Senior Project Manager – Jan.2017- March 2020

As a Senior Project Manager, projects included several water waster system projects in excess of 2 million dollars. The water client projects were on average $100-500 thousand dollar projects. I managed several smaller projects on the water side of management in addition to the sewer side of the industry.

Responsibilities included managing budgets, preparing proposals, contracts, change orders, client work orders, client invoicing approvals, scheduling CAD design hours and working with Electrical and Civil Designers to plan their hours. Worked closely with vendors and contractors and handled additional client needs. Recently put together a SCADA contract for a client with the help of our electrical department and some reliable contractors and integrators. I was responsible for managing all inspection/construction scheduling and activities. We held inspection meetings every Monday morning and attended PM meetings in Pittsburgh via Zoom conferencing with our main office along with coworkers. I worked with projects from the inception of design to close of the project through construction.

As a Project Manager in the Municipal Department at the Pittsburgh office of Gannett Fleming, Inc., worked on wastewater projects from design to construction. Work alongside engineers to complete a design for a new WW package plant, 3 small pump stations, and pressure and gravity sewers associated with new residential services for a community that had no public sewers. Represented some small boroughs as a Project Manager and was in charge of all the MS4 Programs for the Water/Wastewater Department clients. Worked with a large industrial client and managed their industrial stormwater program and NPDES Permit. Assisted a borough with the completion of a flow monitoring study to determine why their flow was double the flow that their system was designed to put out into the WWTP. Primary duties as a Project Manager was to assist the lead Engineers and the Vice-President of our department with multiple projects. Drafted in Civil 3D to assist with some of the designs. Among some projects I completed were Misty Hollow Sewers, Enterprise Sewer Extension, Peachmont Pump Station Project, Grove City WWTP Boiler Replacement, and put together a long term control plan for a borough before taking a senior-level job at Entech. Finished a 35 credit PMP class in June, 2015/16 and anticipated sitting for the PMP test, but study time was limited when I took on my new position at Entech Engineering in 2017.

Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority/L.R. Kimball

Project Manager – Feb. 2012- Sept. 2013

I was hired at L.R. Kimball as a consultant to the Pittsburgh Water and Sewage Authority (PWSA). As the Engineering Project Manager/Environmental Compliance Coordinator, responsibilities included PADEP Consent Order and Agreement (COA) work, environmental regulatory requirements problem solving, reports, and documentation. I Assisted with a design upgrade for one of their major pump stations. The scope of work included: the replacement of (14) fourteen rotating disc valves, along with the upgrade of (6) six inner connected valve vaults. This project was projected to cost around $5.5 million and scheduled to bid in 2014 using Penn Vest funding. Successfully spearheaded a stormwater testing and illicit discharge investigation project; this was to comply with the requirements of PWSA's NPDES/MS4 Permit. The project's scope involved locating 400 stormwater outfalls within the city of Pittsburgh, GIS mapping their locations, screening for dry weather flows, lab testing for illicit discharges, and locating contaminations. Directly associated with this project was the NPDES Application Renewal and the Storm Water Management/MS4/TMDL Plan that I co-authored in 2012 for PWSA and the City. Attending meetings on a regular basis regarding for the oversight of environmental compliance engineering from construction to operations was a usual part of my work week. Responsible for several regulatory reports; answered to the Director of Engineers and attended the PWSA Board meeting and assisted in resolving political issues with regards to environmental problems. I attended LTCP meetings monthly to discuss the long term control plan that was being worked on with Chester Engineers at that time. Worked in conjunction with several engineering consultants' and contractors and oversaw sewer line rehabilitation projects. Part of a core group of Green Infrastructure Charrettes initialized and supported by the Mayor of Pittsburgh. I acted as the Project Manager for the start of the Storm Sewer Separation Projects and a Storm Water Engineering Study associated with the COA to eliminate illegal stormwater from the sanitary sewers. We all worked with several outside consultants such as Arcadis, Baker, TMJ, Volea, and several other firms.

KLH Engineers

Project Designer/Field Technician - 2006-2010

I joined the team at KLH Engineers in September 2006 as a Project Designer/Field Technician. Successfully designed and managed wastewater line and water line projects from construction to completion. My responsible included all the stormwater management issues for KLH Engineering Clients including NPDES Permits and MS4 reporting. Also was responsible for most permits and some E & S control designs for the principal engineers. Along with systems linework designs was responsible for handling some small pump station projects. Developed a good working relationship with the permitting personnel in many governing agencies and attended several organizational meetings. I earned a NASSCO Certification back in 2002 for pipe assessment which leads to the pipe design and rehabilitation work. Some standalone projects included a rehabilitation design project for approximately 550 manholes and two phases of sewer rehabilitation that served approximately 5,200 residents. Other projects included designing approximately 7000 linear feet of 18-36" fusible PVC pipe to be direct drilled for use as a sanitary force main, and a gravity sewer line design that reversed flow direction to compensate for capacity needs to a particular pump station. Designed several sewer lining and point repair projects in local boroughs, municipalities, and authorities, a waterline design along a State Route 8, all projects included tracking quantities, change orders, processing pay estimates, and generating as-built drawings. I was reasonably proficient in CAD to assist with designs at the time.
