EXPERIENCE
Freelance Researcher, Private Company —Berlin, Germany Nov 2022
- Consultation and written report summary of the New EU Urban Wastewater Treatment directive 2022.
Doctoral Researcher, Metropolitan Autonomous University— Mexico City, Mexico. JAN 2013 - SEP 2018
- Applied Advanced oxidation processes such as ozone and ozone-UV to treat wastewater.
-Studied the effectiveness of combining ozone and UV processes with a biological method to increase biodegradability and reduce toxicity of wastewater.
-Identified intermediates formed using analytical methods such as Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass - Spectrometry (GC-MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatography
(HPLC) and UV-Vis Spectroscopy.
-Toxicology studies using Microtox, Respirometric method, Activated sludge and Lactuca sativa.
-Microbiology Analysis of wastewater and Quantified bacteria by serial dilution and plate counts. Identification and Isolation of bacteria from activated sludge and wastewater samples using light microscopy, biochemical tests, gram staining tests, streak plate method, and
‘pour-plate method’.
- Experimental Design of Wastewater Treatment Plant using physicochemical parameters.
-Published articles, Oral and poster Presentations at National and International Conferences. Visiting Researcher, University of Barcelona— Barcelona, Spain. FEB 2012 - JUL 2012
CEQAP Laboratory, Chemical Engineering Department: Designed and optimized reactor, degraded organochlorine compounds by different advanced Oxidation Processes, measured Toxicity level using Microtox testing, carried out Kinetic studies, used Analytical methods for monitoring contaminants in wastewater.
Professional Practice for Environmental Engineering, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)— Mexico City, Mexico. AUG 2009 - OCT 2009 Prioritized wetlands based on the problems presented, to control flooding in the Tabasco plain, determined monitoring actions to be implemented in priority wetlands, helped establish guidelines and criteria for the delimitation of Wetlands and assisted the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) on the formulation of management plans in priority wetlands.
