We were responsible for collectively making all investment decisions for two separate funds negotiated in Tla’amin Nation’s treaty - 1. Long-term investment decisions for the Capital Transfer Fund.
(4.8M + $500,000 deposited annually for 25 years)
2. Short-term + long-term investment decisions for the Economic Development Fund. (9.9M)
Draft, revise and finalize 9 grant applications and application processes so the nation's citizens could access both funds. We conducted interviews and made disbursement decisions twice 2008 - 2011

Meticulously track all changes made to draft laws, and cross reference with approved laws to ensure there was no discrepancies or inconsistencies before final legal review.
Identified 15+ areas of improvement across the organization; suggested solutions that the Executive Council approved in 5 days.
Be prepared to respond to all inquiries regarding any of the 29 approved laws when asked.
Created a system that can efficiently sustain a remote paralegal position for Tla’amin Nation.
Facilitated communications between 70+ key staff members that allowed workflow to remain uninterrupted.
Coordinated and supervised the work of 10+ departments, ensuring the timely and proper completion of each of their insurance documents.
Updated 280+ policy and procedures for Tla’amin Health & CDRC to ensure both facilities would meet accreditation requirements and receive approval for future funding from Health Canada.
Spearheaded the introduction and built the framework for Tla’amin Nation to be the 1st First Nation to have its own self-governed Child Protection Services Department in the history of British Columbia. This was a heavy but rewarding piece of work that I was passionate about.
