Experience with measuring chest tube output, checking blood glucose, and caring for patients on a ventilator. Nurse learned how to remain calm in intense situations and keep patients safe.

MEDICAL SURGICAL CARE

• 96 hours of hands on patient care. Nurse gained experience in IV insertion, SQ,PO, and IV push med administration. Nurse learned how to run EKG test, nasal and strep throat swabs, wound care, and patient teaching.

PARENT-CHILD

• 96 hours of hands on patient care. Nurse gained experience in newborn assessments, and how to care for pediatric patients. Nurse learned how to communicate with children and adults in their parent role.
