St John’s Riverside Hospital Endoscopy RN April 2023- Current

Provided efficient and competent nursing care to 3-30 patients daily. Assessed and treated patients pre, intra and post procedure, ensuring their safety throughout their time in the unit. Recorded and documented vitals, reconciled medications, assessed their health status prior to their procedure, administered medications when necessary, documented during the procedure, collected specimens with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy with post op diagnoses, assessed their status post procedure, educated patients on health effects of anesthesia and prioritization of safety within the hospital/ in their homes, provided instructions and ensured patient understanding before discharge. Inpatients were also seen on this unit, ensuring their safety and expanding their care in a room with more equipment, as these patients are often more critical in their health status.

Garnet Health Catskill Medical Center Operating Room January 2023- March 2023

Providing quality perioperative nursing care to patients daily. Preform pre procedure verification, documentation of procedures, record keeping of in room operations, administration of medications when needed. Understanding of sterilization, maintaining sterility, general surgery knowledge, endoscopy in room knowledge, etc. Collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and effective care.

Crystal Run Healthcare Endoscopy RN November 2021- January 2023

Provided quality and efficient nursing care to 5-28 patients daily. Coordinated and collaborated with other healthcare professionals to assess and treat endoscopy patients during both admission and recovery of their procedures. Preformed over 2,000 IVs within the span of a year, treated patients for post anesthesia symptoms and side effects. Recorded and documented patient vitals, administering medication or treatments when necessary. Expanded knowledge in gastrointestinal issues, provided compassionate care to patients and therapeutic communication when necessary. Taught and communicated with patients on post procedure instructions, emphasizing the importance of post anesthesia care. Collaborated with a highly Spanish speaking population to assist with translation of medical terminology and further my patient rapport in their native language.

Private Duty Undergraduate Nurse/ Horizon Medical Group July 2020- September 2021 Provided private duty nursing care to a 77-year-old woman diagnosed with PSP and dementia. Assisted with ambulation, personal care, transportation to appointments, passive and active range of motion exercises as well as comfort and support emotionally and mentally. Expanded nursing knowledge to collaborate with family members and client to ensure the most efficient and effective care, prioritizing safety throughout the process.

Hospice Undergraduate Nurse May- June 2020 Provided care for a terminal, elderly client diagnosed with cancer. Provided comfort during his last days, as well as passed medications, assisted with hygiene and offered therapeutic communication for him and his family. Expanded knowledge throughout process of death, such as understanding and assessing changes to status, fluctuations in homeostasis and decrease in energy levels and orientation.
