Topaz HR Advisory, West Orange, NJ – Topaz HR Advisory is a consulting firm that specializes in educating and supporting business owners and administrative staff on all human resource related matters. The Company provides a range of HR services to operations that do not have the right expertise or resources to maintain an HR department.

I successfully provide effective counsel and advice to clients on a range of HR issues – recruitment, on-boarding, orientation, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS (personnel records), corporate culture, best practices, employee performance, policies and procedures, disciplinary procedures, investigations, terminations, labor and regulatory compliance requirements, immigration issues, collective bargaining agreements, HR audits, etc., and

MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES 2019 – 2020

Professional Referee Organization, Inc., New York, NY - The Professional Referee Organization (PRO) is an independent company responsible for administering professional referee programs in North America (primarily for Major League Soccer) and is dedicated to the identification, training, assessment, assignment, and employment of male and female professional soccer officials.

Successfully created the Company's first HR professional management position for an operation with 113 employees plus approximately 100+ contractors; 92 employees are unionized and 97% of PRO's staff routinely works remotely outside of New York City (prior to the impact of COVID-19).

Worked closely with the General Manager and COO on a variety of personnel and HR-related issues.

Effectively added and provided significant improvements in employee insurance benefits within budget requirements.

Implemented key corporate / HR policies regarding anti-discrimination and anti-harassment including an annual on-line training program.

Wrote and implemented employee manual including new personnel policies and procedures complying with federal, New York State, New York City regulations and a collective bargaining agreement.

Created and issued independent contractor agreements for a variety of staff working on behalf of the Company, but not as employees.
