Sep 2021 – April 2023, Lead Grants Management Specialist, Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Family Services Administration (FSA), DC Department of Human Services (DHS), Washington, DC (40 hours per week).

Responsible for the management and oversight of CARES Act grant to ensure compliance with the terms and achievement of the objectives set forth in the award document. This involved tracking and reporting for all phases of the grant cycle (pre-award to close out).

Kept abreast of grant decisions, policies and procedures, management principles and methods, and the latest administrative technologies.

Cognizant that the grant closeout is essential, I reviewed the closeout terms and conditions listed in the Notice of Grant Awar received at the time of funding.

As a Lead Grant Management Specialist, I participated in the reconciliation of federal financial report (FFR) expenditure report with the cash transactions reported in the Payment Management System (PMS). The grant closeout often attempts to ensure the recipient has been a good steward of federal funds. This involved submission of final programmatic reports, final administrative reports, final financial reports, and accounting for real and personal property.

Ensured to comply with OMB 2CFR Subpart 200.344 and specific federal funding agency requirements. This would help DC DHS achieve future grant success.

Monitored and provided guidance to grantees awarded grants and/or sub-grants through the DC DHS.

Responsible for the monitoring the implementation of projects involving human services issues and producing reports that include the tracking of trends/patterns, data analysis, and/or grantees financial performance.
