Dear Sir or Madam –
My response is regarding the position you have listed currently. I have many years of senior-level experience in Content, Communications and Marketing across many different consumer and business lines, as well as non-profit. Your ad emphasizes the need for writing skills and social media skills in order to be successful in this position.
In addition to my other skills covered in my resume and in this cover letter, my specific writing experience is as follows: During my career, I have written speeches, written ad copy, written direct mail pieces, written scripts for television and radio commercials, written white papers, business cases, developed PowerPoint presentation decks, internal/external communications, press releases (example: First Responders Resiliency, Inc. Launches Capital Campaign for New Center Newswire), online promotional text for websites, emails, etc. I also have experience writing as a journalist. Additionally, I have edited same.
I also have skills in Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla, as well as basic HTML, SEO and Google Analytics, as far as website development and content goes, and experience with different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. – all of which I gained while doing extensive work developing and writing for different clients/employers.
In terms of media experience, I have been interviewed on Marketplace on Public Radio approximately eight times, I have been on Wisconsin Public Radio as a debater on a social policy subject, I‘ve been interviewed on Maryland Public Radio, and I’ve appeared on BBC America as well. I’ve also given numerous speeches and presentations at corporate events.
The primary driver of my current job search is not level or compensation; rather, I would like to be part of a team doing interesting work. I wish to assure you that my interest in this position is genuine and serious – I am looking for a professional home where I contribute as part of a group.
I am excited about joining a new organization - a place where I can use my business experience and exercise my entrepreneurial inclinations by growing the business of my employer for years to come. Your company, like most companies, has a set of business and strategic goals in 2024, and beyond. I have a lot of energy and I can help you reach those goals. I think this is a match and I am eager to interview for this position. Thanks for your patience in reading this letter, and perhaps we can speak soon. Best regards,
Brendan Moore
