The New York Power Authority, officially known as the Power Authority of the State of New York, is the largest state public power organization in the United States. In 2016, NYPA acquired the New York State Canal Corporation. I played a key role in the integration of NYPA and NYS Canal Corporation projects as a SAP BASIS administrator. I was extensively involved in building new servers for Canals and integrating them with NYPA's SAP systems.
This integration project encompassed SAP portfolio, SAP HR, and SAP MM modules. All procedures and processes related to the New York State Canal Corporation needed to be seamlessly integrated with NYPA systems. This also involved the configuration and development of analytical systems such as BW and SAP BOBJ BI systems for the NYS Canals project.
In NYPA, all servers are hosted on VMWare and run Windows Server 2012, along with Oracle Database 11G. To manage these servers, we built an SAP LVM server for SAP landscape management.
The installation and configuration of SAP Portal on devices using SAP NetWeaver 7.4 were done to enhance mobility for NYPA users.
The Canal integration project was completed in March 2017, after which SAP BASIS was moved to production support. During this time, I implemented SAP LVM 2.10, upgraded the Solution Manager to 7.2 SPS3, and split the AS ABAP and AS Java. Additionally, I performed patching on the BW system, upgrading it to 7.4 SPS 16.
In line with current trends, NYPA has decided to migrate its SAP BW from Oracle to SAP HANA. The project is currently in its initial stages, and we are in the process of building a SAP HANA server for the migration.
We have also successfully implemented SAP Concur on the AWS Cloud. NYPA employees can now easily file their travel expenses using SAP Concur, which went live on November 24, 2017
Responsibilities:
●Enabling Portal on devices in SAP NetWeaver by changing Java system properties iViewDependent to enable HTML 5.
●Configuring Properties of Mobile Framework Pages.

GenRe (General Reinsurance) is a distinguished reinsurance company with a rich history spanning 95 years in the reinsurance business. GenRe is currently in the process of implementing SAP for their Reinsurance operations, incorporating the use of FS-RI and FSCD modules developed by MSG.
The entire SAP system implementation is hosted in a virtual environment, providing a highly flexible and efficient solution for managing servers. The environment is fortified with essential features such as clustering, fault tolerance (FT), disaster recovery (DR), and clone backups. The design of the storage infrastructure is optimized for superior performance, featuring elements like log storage on SSDs and database management.
GenRe's international business expansion went live in June 2017, while the North American segment successfully went live in September 2014. The implementation involves the integration of SAPECC with SAP GTS to facilitate global trading, particularly for Denial Requests. Legacy systems are seamlessly connected using SAP Process Orchestration (PO). For reporting purposes, GenRe relies on SAP reporting solutions, including BW, SAPDS, and SAP BOBJ BI, all of which are managed with a robust IT services model featuring IT Service Management (ITSM), Change Request Management (ChaRm), and technical monitoring.
This ambitious project incorporates the latest versions of SAP, coupled with state-of-the-art virtualization technologies to achieve efficiency and optimal performance. My role in this project was to devise effective solutions for system integration and data access. I was responsible for connecting reporting systems to SAP reporting tools, including BW, SAPDS, and SAP BOBJ BI. Additionally, I contributed to the configuration and execution of Solution Manager activities, such as ChaRm setup and Technical Monitoring.
The foundation of this project is SAP ECC EHP 7, complemented by the FS-RI and FSCD modules. Legacy systems, such as SYBASE, Oracle, DB2, and MSSQL server, were seamlessly integrated with SAP, allowing access to historical and present business data.
The reporting aspect of this project, which is crucial for GenRe's business operations, relies on SAP BW, SAPDS, and SAP BOBJ BI. I managed the upgrade of these systems, including SAP BW 7.3, SAP Data Services 4.2, and SAP BOBJ BI 4.1. This encompassed support for data loads, configurations, and the design for connecting all legacy systems.
For effective system management, Solution Manager 7.1 was set up, with basic configuration and managed system configuration for IT Service Management (ITSM) and Change Request Management (ChaRm). Additionally, I configured technical monitoring to ensure proactive alerting for production systems, covering databases, hosts, and applications.
The landscape for this project follows an N+1 model, consisting of both a project landscape and a maintenance landscape. This approach optimally leverages ChaRm features, with the project line catering to new implementations, and the maintenance line addressing production bug fixes. I played a key role in effectively managing retrofit and cutover processes using ChaRm."Managed number of releases including RAS 1A go-live on Sep 1st, 2014, for North America region, activities including for release offline backups, ChaRm RFC and Change document IDS and release strategy, supporting BW and DW loads.
