As a Operations Assistant for Martin Brower I support the entirety of the operations of the McCook warehouse location. The duties that come with being an Operations Assistant are daily tasks such as diagraming trucks dispatching to McDonald’s, Chic Fil A and chipotle. I ensure shorted items that came from a selector or pickers headset make the truck. Close routes on the shipment screen when the route has been shipped. I created and edited Microsoft excel spreadsheets daily to assign specific truck sizes to specific routes based off of store truck restrictions. I also created spreadsheets to inform warehouse where to stage the CFA fry pallets daily, and used Microsoft teams to communicate to the different departments in the warehouse, edit and create files for warehouse and transportation. Finally finished my work day with a daily recap which would be sent via outlook email to inform warehouse, and transportation of any update, situation or delays. My time at Santa Monica I started as a member of the portions team. That consisted of preparing, slicing portions specific to the stores orders requirements. We prepared these portions for company’s such as Walmart and Aldi. In this position I also prepared and defrosted other types of seafood with different methods such as pounds of shrimp in a salt water bath, defrosting scallops to be sent to the line. I was also required to help on the line when needed that consisted of placing the portions of fish into the conveyor belt onto the plastic film that then went down the line to be sealed. This was done with all the types of fish we worked with at the site, I worked all the positions along the line. Those were the packer, portioned as mentioned, scaler to weigh and label the sealed fish, and as well as the box packer where at the end of the line the fish would be placed into boxes and labeled. When I felt I was no longer challenged in this role I decided to move forward and advanced my career with the company to move into the logistics/ forklift operator role. This role consist of working in an office on creating excel spreadsheets to label and organize stored fish in walk in coolers and freezers that come inbound via truckload delivery’s. I was also responsible for using the forklift to unload the inbound trucks that came in, and outbound that trucks that were being delivered to stores that ordered product. When the fish was done being boxed and loaded onto pallets, I was responsible for wrapping these pallets and staging them for later delivers using forklifts to place these pallets onto racks and staging zones. I had to temp all incoming and outbound fish to maintain temperature, as well as maintenance of both wall in coolers and walk in freezers. Jogger/Forklift Operator

Primary duties were jogging packer stacks onto a pallet, layering it with cardboard we cut with box cutters then top. I would use a sit down forklift to carry the rolls of paper onto the scale to load the printing press as well as moving pallets When the job is finished to the loading dock. I would then change the plates on the rollers for the next job as well change the water stops to the required size. That consisted of handling cash registers, scanning customer product and bagging the items for the customer to place in their cart. After the required 6 month minimum transfer limit I then went to further my career even more when I moved to the money center desk. That position would consist of cashing checks, handling money transfers via Walmart to Walmart and or money gram. This position would lead to me getting promoted to a customer service manager a title I held for 2 years of employment. That position included managing the four departments money center, online pickup, customer service desk, self checkout, and the 16 registers that were manned by cashiers. I managed at the most 20-30 employees scheduling their breaks, lunches and positioning. I would respond to alcohol ID requests due to needing a supervisor to check IDs.
