Redesigned Wiring for new (updated) Avionics and created cable drawing . Designed Wire Harness for information Systems (Entertainment), Communication systems, Cabin power distribution (115AC and 28Vdc) Seat Wiring. Cabin Surround Sound; Powered Window Shades; Cabin Read/Accent Lighting; Cabin EMER lighting; primary and secondary cabin heaters/Climate Control.

Created Cable Drawings for installations of new equipment and re-fixture legacy equipment on the VH60N Presidential Sikorsky Helicopter Conversion Program using Autocad 2010/ASME Y14.5M-1994. We are actually using the Electrical Schematics that were created for Sikorsky when I worked at Butler Int’l in West Lafayette, Indiana. This is the second time I have seen my own work in two different places.

Selected to train Engineers and Drafters using AutoCAD 2004. Used Specifications for Transducers, Accelerometers, Flow Meters, Liquid Flow Switches, Voltage Transducers, Current Transducers, Current Monitors, Temperature Probes, Humidity and Vibration sensors to make a schematic symbol defining each component to create Schematic Diagrams. Selected Connectors for the Harnesses, created Schematic Diagrams used by the Cable Manufacturing and Installation Departments.

Coordinated with Aircraft Mechanics, Shop Personnel, and Vendors to aid in creating designs facilitating practicality, ease of manufacture, and installation of wiring and sensors for the Boeing 737 "CATBird" Cooperative Test Bed Experiment.

Design Engineer

Contracted for design work on the U.K. Apache Longbow Helicopter Simulator. Designed wire harnesses and avionics to match aircraft modifications installed per Boeing engineering standards.

Retrofitted simulator, adding multiple electronic parts including switcher, smart switch, cables, wiring, and two PCs.

Researched and wrote Requests for Engineering Change (REC) orders to update cable drawings using Mentor-Graphics Logical Cable and CM-Pro software. Supported technicians during installations. Flew simulator 45 minutes to test new equipment.

Supervised one Technician and one Mechanical Drafter. Wrote Mentor-Graphics Logical Cable Instructions as required for other Engineers who were new to this software.

KEY PROJECTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

Invented the Interchangeable Test Adapter (ITA), saving Lockheed the cost of a Virginia Panel Console Station ($40K).

Acted collaterally as Liaison Engineer, coordinating with outside vendors on the manufacture and assembly of PC boards, boxes, and cables.

As this program expanded, supervised and taught Jr. Drafters to use SDRC-Ideas for Electrical and Mechanical drawings.

Ordered and kitted the parts for the Black Boxes, delivered the kits to the outside manufacturer, supervised the manufacture of the boxes at the site, and checked the boxes when they were received. Kitted and built test boxes and black boxes as needed for early trial.

Invented the "Interchangeable Test Adapter" to replace the $40,000 Virginia Panel Console.
