I was hired to develop and teach a training program for the production departments.
When she offered me the position the Production Manager said that the present training was done by the department foreman and was not uniform through the company.
I was to develop the program so that all new and existing employees were trained uniformly in production and safety.
They did not have any SOPs in place so I had to spend my first 2 weeks on the production floor determining the SOPs, and then develop the training program.
Created the teaching lab and the curriculum and taught manufacturing skills, OSHA safety, blueprint reading, shop math, machinery/tool safety, tool and machinery operation, quality control, etc.
From October 30, 2010 through March 24, 2011, I taught first year HVAC apprentices seven hours a week for Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana. This class consists of one half classroom lecture and one half hands on lab work.
