Purchasing Manager / Inventory Control Manager.

A Family owned Engineering Company based on Poole. Involved in the Manufacturing of Power Transmission components, such as Gears, Pulley’s Belts and associated items.

The role is to implement an MRP Procurement system from scratch, for an Inventory in excess of 28,000 line items, and strategically change the Procurement ethos from small orders on European suppliers to large stock orders from China. To drive down purchasing costs and improve margins.

Overall responsibility for the purchasing & Inventory control functions within Transmission Developments

Implement an MRP driven purchasing system, based on historical Sales & Purchasing Data.

Set up Min / Max /ROP figures, to use as the main driver for stock based purchasing.

Benchmark current European suppliers and their KPI’s against Chinese Suppliers.

Monitor costs savings through the use of Pivot Tables and other Tools.

Move the current purchasing function to a more Commodity driven Process.

Set up supplier agreements to meet company needs, as currently no agreements are in place.

Source new Suppliers Globally to improve procurement costs.

Senior Buyer/ Aftermarket Supply Manager

A £100 million business the role was to develop a strategic capability, for outsourcing of material / processes to enable both delivery commitments and improved lead times required of the Aftermarket activities whilst working to ISO standards and ASME quality requirements. To manage procurement projects on a global scale, to ensue customer deadlines and budgets are met.

Overall responsibility for the delivery of all Aftermarket orders on global scale whilst liaising with engineering, design and quality control departments.
