Teaching Experience

Sep. – Dec. 2022, Teaching Assistant, Comics to Print, School of the Art Institute of Chicago Provided teaching assistance with professor's demonstration and support students in the creation of their self-published comic books. Assisted students to become proficient with the use of Risography printer and the format of bookbinding.

Feb. 2013–Aug. 2020, Assistant professor, Director of Fine Art foundation courses, Architecture and Urban & Rural Department, Zhuhai College of Jilin University, China. Except for teach painting, drawing, 2d design, printmaking and material expression, As a Director of art, my work also was comprised of curriculum development and delivery. I designed and developed the curriculum of Drawing, Painting, and designed 2D Design, and Material Expression. Mar. 2011–Jan. 2013, Senior Lecturer, Academic Director of Fine Arts, Architecture and Urban & Rural Department, Zhuhai College of Jilin University, China. Introduced the subjects of drawing, painting, material expression, printmaking and 2D design in the foundation course, as well as color theory and drawing theory. Each summer, I coordinated field trips to both ancient and modern landmarks, as well as galleries for architecture and drawing surveys. Sept. 2002– Feb. 2011, Lecturer, Shijiazhuang Fine Arts Vocational School Was awarded Excellent Teacher in both 2004 and 2008. Instructed the progressive levels of painting and drawing, guiding students in learning how to render mold, still life to figures using various techniques and materials. Additionally, I coordinated field trips for students to experience painting Plein Air. Jul.2015-2019, Headmaster, ChunYu Fine Art training school for students aged 3-12 Pre-k: Including observation and describe the real life stuff, collage, paper-cutting, color mixing, abstract expression etc; Elementary school: Introduction level drawing classes: including plaster geometry, still life sketching, outdoor observation and sketching; Introduction level color courses: including color theory, still life, abstract expression, appreciation; Hard pen calligraphy class; Chinese calligraphy class; Cooperative Education Program

Jan- Feb 2016 Carried out the China-US Design and Cultural Exchange Studio program at Grand View University. As the Chinese leader and lecturer, I conducted a workshop on Chinese woodcut techniques and history, which culminated in a final exhibition in Des Moines, Iowa. This exhibition was reported by the local media.

May- June 2015 Initiated the “China-US Design and Cultural Exchange Studio program” in collaboration with the Grand View University. In my role as the Chinese leader and lecturer, I instructed Chinese and American students in Chinese traditional woodcut and curated a final exhibition of student works. This program aimed to foster cross-cultural understanding and artistic exchange between students from China and the United States, promote cultural exchange and provide opportunities for students to explore different artistic traditions.

2012- 2014 My team and I received the Guangdong Provincial Curriculum Reform for Higher Education Grant. This funded the design and implementation of an experimental Special Topic co-taught course: Design and Teaching of Architectural Physics; for which I created the light, color, and drawing modules.

2013- 2014 My team and I received the Guangdong Provincial Curriculum Reform for Higher Education Grant. This funded the design and implementation of an experimental co-taught Drawing course for which I created and taught the introductory units. 2011- 2013 My team and I received the Guangdong Provincial Curriculum Reform for Higher Edu Education Grant.
