US Navy Reserve, Captain, 2001-2011

Provided 23 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy Reserve. Highlights:

Led as a commanding officer five times leading as many as 3000 sailors in any one command.

developed a team responsible for the current modernized force-wide training of 4500 submarine personnel reserve personnel dispersed in all 50 states.

Played a critical role as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of the Navy Reserve Affairs Policy Board. Represented 60,000 reserve sailors leading policy changes that improved the living conditions, pay and benefits as well as the effectiveness of Navy’s support for its reserve sailors and families.

Managed numerous military rescue operations in the Mediterranean and Atlantic resulting in 9 successful medical evacuations of injured sailors and the return of nearly 20 members to families in crisis or grief.

Served as the Operations Officer, Commander Naval Surface Group Mediterranean leading all logistics in support of Operation Allied Force to support actions in Kosovo. 27million tons of equipment was effectively moved between the United States, Mediterranean and Persian Gulf.
