Resume:

Marilyn S. Hoeflinger, PhD

**** ********* **. ********, **** 43026

614-***-****

I am a lifelong learner and have dedicated my life to my education and the education of others.

I develop authentic and lasting relationships with students, parents, and staff.

I have mentored hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students as they embark on their professional licensure, and most were offered full-time teaching positions as soon as they graduated.

I am a hands-on professor, providing almost immediate feedback on questions, evaluation of assigned papers and writing letters of recommendations.

When my students succeed, I succeed. Even when teaching in middle school, I provided my students and parents with my personal email and my cell phone number so they could contact me. I encouraged my students to call me when they had questions. No one ever abused this information and being available was crucial for student and parent understanding of concepts that might have been new for them.

After retirement in 2019, I worked at volunteer positions within my church; chairperson of the SPRC Team (the HR function of the church) as well as teaching adult Sunday School creating my own curricula based on multiple books offerings. Although I found and find this work fulfilling, I know I still have more to offer within the traditional education framework.

Having worked with gifted students and their parents, helping guide them to enroll in the best high school courses to meet their goals, and working at various universities, I am uniquely qualified to be an admissions counselor. Although I have not held a position with that specific title, I believe I can be successful in helping students and parents with decisions concerning higher education.

I have the experience of working in a remote setting (The University of Phoenix Online), communicating with students in a timely manner (by checking email multiple times a day as well as evaluating weekly papers with thorough feedback of what was done well and what needed improvement).

I am a self-starter and organized in meeting my responsibilities as well as well prepared for whatever the job might be. I appreciate being considered for this open position.
