Senior Payroll Supervisor

Manage payroll processing function for 7200 Corporate and Franchise 7-Eleven stores, Store support and Field support staff of approximately 56,000 total active employees.

Supervise and manage performance of 28 payroll processors,

Reorganization of duties and processes that resulted in the reduction of 2 Full time employees in the payroll department.

Responsible for obtaining all payroll data for payroll processing, garnishments, account reconciliations and resolution of payroll issues for an average weekly net payroll of $16,000,000

Responsible for the centralization of data entry of Human Resources data into the Oracle system.

The centralization eliminated the need for 11 full time employees in field office locations.

Designed a workflow process to enable data entry processors to quickly process data, report on the productivity and store the records electronically.

Implement an electronic pay program and increase electronic pay from 12% to 98% which lead to cost savings on the printing and distribution of the payroll. Vendor selection and development of distribution and enrollment processes. Presented the program to Franchise owners to encourage participation by speaking at sales meetings throughout the U.S. Led training sessions via conference calls and created reference materials for the store locations.

Worked with IT team to create pay stubs reports and a portal to eliminate distribution of paper.

Implementation and customization of Oracle Time and Labor System to ensure compliance with state labor law requirements. Created training documentation and lead training sessions for managers and timecard approvers.

Support Benefits team and Human Resources team for regulatory compliance and vendor selection.

Payroll Tax Manager (2005-2008)

Management responsibility for vendor relationship with ADP for tax processing and payment including all payroll multi-state, local and Federal tax reporting, tax payments, PeopleSoft tax setup, balancing and maintaining General Ledger Payroll tax accounts for over $250,000,000 annually.

Supervised and trained 3 Payroll Tax associates.

Created, implemented, documented and reviewed procedures for 3rd party tax processing, tax payment, PeopleSoft tax setup and audit controls.

Planning, organization and analysis have resulted in lower costs associated with the 3rd party vendor due to fewer amended tax returns and fewer corrected W2s. Created and implemented procedures for a cost effective W2 reprint process.

Assisted other teams with issue resolution by creating queries, analyzing processes and data, and recommending alternative solutions. For example, determining why some items do not post to the general ledger and finding the system does not accept duplicate item numbers.

PeopleSoft Program Manager (2005)

Responsible for creating and presenting training documentation for HR Functional Users, providing support to Functional Users during go live portion of PeopleSoft implementation.

Documented issues and coordinated with other team members to provide alternative solutions of PeopleSoft Modules and interfacing systems.

Business Process Engineer (2003-2005)

Provided support and solutions for Functional Payroll, HRIS and Benefits users of PeopleSoft, JDEdwards World and Kronos systems.

Developed and directed a strategic approach for table configuration of the PeopleSoft HRMS module for the foundation of successful PeopleSoft HRMS, Payroll and Benefits implementation.

Defined cross functional requirements, determined cost, analyzed solutions, and created business design for HR, Benefits and Payroll projects on JD Edwards World. Planned, tested and implemented various interfaces, reports and processes to satisfy the HR, Payroll and Benefits business requirements. For example, California meal and break changes to time keeping system.

HRIS Manager (2000-2003)

Management responsibility for HR reporting, configuration of new pay types, deduction codes and benefit plans for JDEdwards World, as well as Supervise and train staff of 2- 5 HRIS Analysts.

Direct and review all HR reporting, including Federal and State government mandated reports.

Provided coordination of HR process with IT and other Departments, for example Unicru new hire/rehire, termination and reporting process.

Responsible for Processing and supervising all aspects of Payroll for 75,000 multi-state employees.

Supervised Payroll staff of 35. Many employees that were hired are still with Blockbuster.
