Worked for Botswana Weights and Measures since 1984 including in-house training. After my in-house training, I worked for the division of Weights and Measures up to the post of Principal technical officer before acquiring my BSc Honours in Computing and Electronics. I was then seconded to Botswana Bureau of Standards and worked there as a Standards officer from 2002 up to 31st May 2005 when I resigned. As an employee of the Botswana Bureau of Standards, I am familiar with ISO/IEC 17025: general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
During my time with Weights and Measures, I travelled country wide enforcing weights and measure law and protecting public in relation to sales of articles regulations. I was responsible for the calibration and re-calibration of weighing or measuring instrument; giving evidence in court as a state witness related article weighed. Also organising awareness seminars on the role of Weights and Measures.
