I work under the supervision of Nephrology Nurses, to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment for patients. I ensure the comfort and safety of patients in the dialysis center my monitoring the patients before, during and after dialysis. I monitor the patient and check vital signs every half hour as well as monitoring the dialysis machine during the entire treatment time. I get to know and develop a good working relationship with patients under my care. I ensure a clean and welcoming environment by disinfecting machines and clearing any trash from the area. I program the dialysis machine to the patient’s settings, assess the proper vascular access and connect the dialysis machine tubing. I keep careful notes about the patients treatment, these records are important for the patients health care team to determine how well the treatment is working and if any adjustments need to be made.
