Career Goals & Objectives

My aim is to research on global public health issues, focused on themes of environmental exposures, climate-change challenges, and sustainability. Towards this goal, I seek projects that build evidence-based public health solutions for promoting equitable and sustainable communities.

Work Experience

oPublic Health Analyst, Independent Consultant (2022 – Present)

Special Project Manager for Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) for strengthening partnerships for COVID 19 surveillance, guidance for health equity analyses, quality assurance data shared with partners for epidemiological studies (2023- ongoing).

Co- Principal Investigator for consultation on WHO Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (Alliance HPSR) responding to the climate crisis- lessons from the countries (2023-ongoing).

Assisted School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) with grant development, manuscript writing and statistical analysis as a volunteer(January 2023).

Advised the development of technical guidance documents to assess climate and health vulnerabilities and adaptation actions in the Southeast Asia Region for WHO (SEARO) (2022).

Guided development of health vulnerabilities and adaptation analysis for GIZ (New Delhi, India) (2022).

oSenior Fellow & Area Convenor (Environment & Health), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, India (2004 – 2022)

Led and managed projects focused on multiple health determinants. Responsible for grant writing, manuscript preparation, statistical analyses, and report writing for projects on environmental exposures, public health and climate challenges. Sponsors included international organizations such as UNEP, the World Bank, NIEHS, DFID, UNICEF, NICFI, WHO-SEARO, and state and federal health departments in India.

I developed proposals, protocols, data analyses plans, and study reports for projects. Collaborated with external organizations for grant-writing and knowledge-product development. Strengthened the capacity of state and national public health departments on exposure assessments and designing interventions to reduce exposures in rural, city and occupational settings. Also developed and delivered targeted training for research professionals in defining study design, data collection tools and statistical analyses.
