EXPERIENCE:

05/21 - Present Andalusia Country Club - La Quinta, CA

Director of Food and Beverage. Every aspect of F&B Directorship. Delivery of extremely high-end service to discerning clientele. P&L, inventories, budget writing, staffing, complete Food and Beverage and Social management of the Club. Create and update wine list for two profit centers, winemaker dinners, social events, private parties, weddings, golf and tennis tournaments.

02/2008 – 03/2021 Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse – Rancho Mirage, CA

General Manager. Hired in 2008 to run the daily operations of this restaurant, including all administrative duties, daily operations, front-of-house and back-of-house staffing, P&L as it relates to food and beer, wine, and liquor costs, marketing, advertising, guest satisfaction and complete operation. Functionality includes mixers, special events, and all incorporations and events in this desert.

Additionally, in 2012 started marketing and selling Babe’s beer products offsite – attained more than seventeen accounts including restaurants, hotels, and large retail (Total Wine & More). Most recently awarded CA State “BREWERY OF THE YEAR” 2015 for the entire State.

09/2004 – 02/2008: The Desert Sun, a division of Gannett, Inc. – Palm Springs, CA

Retail Sales Advertising Executive. Hired in 2004 to maintain and increase sales for the Palm Springs territory. Responsible for maintaining existing clients as well as securing new advertisers within this sales territory, to sell advertising for the daily newspaper, internet advertising sales, 92260 Magazine, LQ Magazine, Desert Magazine, Healthy Living Magazine, and all existing special sections.

Promoted in 03/2005 to the advertising sales territory of Palm Desert, CA. This included a much larger client base, an exponentially larger geographic territory, and management of key accounts such as the McCallum Theater, COD, City of Palm Desert, El Paseo, etc. Grew this territory from $640,000.00 annual when receiving the promotion to $1.4 million annual when promoted again in 2007.

Promoted in 02/2007 to Real Estate Development Advertising Executive. Responsible to manage advertising sales for all new home developers in the Coachella Valley. Products included those mentioned above, as well as maintenance and growth of Saturday’s “Desert Home” Section. Created Sunday “Desert Home” Section, and out-of –market Section to be placed quarterly in the Orange County Register, San Bernardino Times, and Los Angeles Times. Increased sales revenue from $82,000.00 monthly to $145,000.00 monthly.

Acquired Century Club Membership (sales award of exceeding goal) consistently each quarter from 2004 – 2008.

06/1999 – 06/2004: Indian Ridge Country Club – Palm Desert, CA

Food and Beverage Director/Assistant General Manager. Hired in 1999 as Food and Beverage Director, directly responsible for three food and beverage profit centers throughout the club. Duties included complete management of all F&B staff, cost management, sales of private parties and golf tournaments, generation of P&L statements, scheduling, payroll, hiring, discipline, and general “customer service lifestyle” manager.

Promoted in 2002 to Assistant General Manager, where duties included aforementioned, as well as Social Director, and assisting in all aspects of General Manager of private country club management. Increased profitability of the club from -23% annual to + 19% annual, ultimately resulting in the members purchasing the club from the developer (Sunrise Colony Company).

03-1996 – 03/1999: The Olde Pink House Restaurant, Savannah, GA

Assistant General Manager. Duties included all aspects of managing a four-star, destination restaurant in downtown Savannah. Staff management, P&L statement generation, scheduling, training, food cost control, beverage cost control, sales of all private parties and catering, marketing and advertising of restaurant.

10-1998 – 03/1999: Grapefields LLC, Savannah GA

Sales Representative. Successfully represented, placed, and sold wines from the Grapefields wine book to both on and off-site merchants. Superior knowledge of wines and spirits enabled me to make these sales and create these relationships. This was my most valuable experience to date.

08/1994 – 01/1996: U.S. House of Representatives– Washington D.C.

Legislative Assistant to Congressman Glenn M. Anderson from Long Beach, CA. Stationed in Washington D.C. at the Rayburn House Office Building. Responsibilities included: immigration counseling, preparation of proposed House Resolution reports to the Congressman, Library of Congress Liaison, and all adhering administrative congressional duties to the position.
