January 2024
In 1963 I earned my Bachelors degree at the University of California Los Angeles (English Literature/Political Science) and in 1968, my Juris Doctor from Whittier College .
In January 1969 I began to practice and am currently licensed in California.
In 2010 my nephew took over my practice. I consult with him on various cases. In addition, I work full time, on the computer, for a company called JustAnswer.
Notwithstanding my age, I am very healthy and active.
For 8 years, married and with 2 children, in undergraduate and law school, I worked as an insurance adjuster assigned to personal injury and product liability case investigation and defense. As my training and ability increaed, I acted in a support capacity for in-house counsel for my employer, The Insurance Company of North America.
For more than 55 years I have practiced as a trial attorney and as supervisor for other attorneys in California focusing on the areas of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Product Liability and Insurance Bad Faith.
I have handled more than 50 major trials, including Medical Malpractice and Insurance Bad Faith cases. in State and Federal Courts.
I have negotiated and settled hundreds of Cases, including multi-million dollar settlements.
I have trained numerous law clerks and continue to enjoy a friendship with many of them. Additionally I was fortunate to have employed 2 young women who I thought were far too bright to limit their careers to secretarial work and encouraged them to study law. Each is now a practicing attorney in California. I maintain a friendly relationship with them and their families.
Over the years I enjoyed the company of 2 different partners, and supervised our offices in Los Angeles, Irvine and Palm Springs.
During that time I continued to conduct the bulk of case analysis, arbitrations and trials for the firm.
I have received notes from Jurors and even Court Reporters commending me on my presentation of my case. Judges have told me that they enjoyed my having presented a case in their courtroom and that they would welcome me back.
I enjoy being an attorney and I do my job well. My work ethic is excellent. I am comfortable with and relate well with a Jury. I take the time to discuss with each client what I am doing for them and why. . I enjoyed generations of family members as clients.
I am very careful and capable in evaluating facts to determine whether and how a matter should be pursued.
I take pride in what I do and am an excellent representative for a client.
Sincerely,
David H. Cheren
