I am interested in the position of Remote SOCIAL WORKER - PATIENT LIAISON

I have working experience as Mental Health therapist and Chemical Dependency Professional. I have worked providing Mental Health therapy in Inpatient and Outpatient programs. As a Chemical Dependency Counselor, I have 11 years of experience working in all ASAM levels of treatment, such as: Outpatient, Inpatient, and Detox. In addition, I have experience as a substance abuse therapist in a methadone clinic and in a Work Release program (The Madison Inn Work Release).

I am currently working at Harborview Medical Center. I am working at the Engage clinic located in Federal Way, WA. The predominant work that I do is with Homeless patients who suffer from chronic mental health and substance use disorders. I work well with Attorneys and probation officers. I feel confident working with severely mentally disturbed patients. Most of my experience as a drug counselor and mental health therapist has been working with sexual and ethnic minorities and with patients often involved with the legal system. I have received training in crisis interventions, and in De-escalation technics.

I had acquired hands on experience in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. I certainly can perform the job well, but more over, I have an attitude for excellence.

I graduated in June 2012 with a master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington with a concentration in Mental Health. I also have a double bachelor’s degree from The University of Washington in Comparative Religion and Law, Societies, and Justice (BA degree).

My overall strength is that I learn fast. I am enthusiastic, I am a team player and I have a strong desire to bringing about real, practical results in people’s lives. I am bilingual and fluent in both Spanish/English. Moreover, I feel confident that I can be a positive asset to your facility.
