Project/Process Advisor – 3/2020 - Current (Tenure 20 years)

My role title changed based on Corporate HR decision to align all roles to a standard guideline. Role required multiple responsibilities with various systems:

TBM – Responsible for extracting/validating data via excel reports and manipulating that data into a graphical format in Excel for my VP, Directors and Managers. I further analyzed this data and provided the change in those costs (UP or DOWN) and the reason for the cost changes each month.

PPM – Responsible for entering new application change requests and following that request through the system until completed (this involved approvals from Management, both business and IT). Ensuring all compliance rules were followed. Support was provided to all IT team members and their managers as needed when having issues with PPM. Wrote and provided training to all team members both IT and business as needed on the application. Setup new users for access to PPM and provided them with additional custom access as needed based on job title and functionality needed in PPM.

Wrote the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Change Management using PPM. Attended CAB meetings weekly where all software releases were discussed PRIOR to any software being released into the Production environment.

Platinum Exchange (PX): Responsible for keeping this system, PPM and TBM in sync. I was one of the VP leads for this system as well.

Image – Responsible for updating roles, removing vendor roles if no longer at FedEx, supporting Managers with any changes to roles and role ownerships in this system.

EPDSM (Service Now)– Used this system to look up server and application information, entering change requests for software releases, entering tickets for defects and changes needed to various applications. This system was also used to add/change users for Kenna.

Vendor Management – Responsible for managing vendors for FedEx IT group in Plano Texas. Reviewed contracts, worked with Vendor Management, managed also system updates to ensure the vendors had necessary access only to systems needed. Escalated to Vendor Management if the vendor was not a good fit and requested replacement. Coordinated training on compliance, SAFE, IT tools such as GitHub, Flow, Cloud bees, DevSecOps, Platinum Exchange, Image, etc. Also created a SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for vendors to follow when vendors left their company to ensure all roles (system access) were removed. Systems – Kronos/Platinum Exchange/TBM/s:

I was asked by FedEx Services to return to my former position to complete another upgrade for them. They are upgrading from 6.2.16 to 7.0.9. The upgrade is completed in the TEST environment and now waiting for scheduled date to upgrade Production environment.

General day to day monitoring and maintenance of Kronos Workforce Central Timekeeper v5.2, v.6.2.

All Kronos system updates (followed Sarbanes/Oxley processes).

Provided support to our Business Partners (Payroll, Field team members, Corp groups).

24 x 7 x 365 “on call” for 7 years.

Completed an application several application upgrades from 5.2 to 6.2 and 6.2 to 7.0 (Once support from IT was no longer available for Kronos, the business moved to support with the actual application owner (the SaaS provider).

System - CSM:

My new duties include supporting a “home-grown system” (Control Self-Monitoring). This system is used to assist 1600 field team members in auditing of the FedEx Centers. It is built with Excel and MS Access and is quite complex with over 15k lines of vba code. The plan is to build a new system using standard application/database configuration which will begin once we receive the business plans in Jan 2015.

Sr. Business Development Advisor (Promotion due to flawless Kronos upgrade) Held position from 3/2007 to 3/2014.

System – Kronos:

System Analyst functions includes using UNIX commands to view scripts and files in production and test environments. Adequate in Oracle and MSSQL

I supported 17,000+ users in Kronos Production, Test, and Dev environment. Responsible for assisting with all system upgrades, hardware upgrades, system maintenance, daily customer support (2nd level), and 24-hour system support. Use SQL scripts to provide timekeeping data to legal, finance, Data Warehouse, and other departments as requested.

Assisted business partners (Payroll, Legal, HR, Finance, and Pickup/Delivery) in determining needed Kronos application changes. I designed those changes; unit tested, and then handed to Quality Control for further testing. Finally, following the SAAS application instructions, I upgraded Kronos several times during my tenure with this application.

Sr. Business Systems Analyst Held position from 6/2005 to 2/2007

System: Clarify/Compass

Responsibilities with this position were monitoring of xml files we received from TODS system to ensure we sent a touch file to our Data Warehousing group for creation of the executive Daily Sales Flash. Monitoring and writing the scripts that run throughout the day and night to ensure they are running as scheduled and resolving any errors. I watched for warnings and resolved them before they became errors. I supported Traveler (Offline Clarify Client) and built / rebuilt nodes as needed. I assisted users with Traveler support and tools. (Traveler was decommissioned because of the old technology as of June 2006)

Business Objects was also my responsibility, and I administered all new and terminated logins and managed defects associated with Business Objects access as needed.

I have SOX (Sarbanes –Oxley) training and I am experienced in writing Change requests, work requests, Defects, and all functional and production validation test plans and results.

Support field users and internal users when there are timekeeping issues and identify the need for new functionality, then work with Business Partners so they can write requirements for additional requested changes.

Documented all changes/processes for historical and disaster recovery purposes.

Data/Lead Business Analyst Held position from 3/2003 to 6/2005

System: AMS

Major Job functions include but not limited to leading the Sales Systems Support team. Responsible for data cleanup between FedEx Kinko's legacy systems (AMS) and current system (Clarify/Compass). While this was my primary function, I was instrumental in developing requirements for Forecasting within Compass and many other enhancements. I had responsibility for monthly and quarterly commission statements, and I wrote requirements for the addition of commission statements to the clarify application. I revised the existing template, gathered all necessary delivery tools required to successfully issue statements to all Sales Directors, Sales Managers, SAEs, MAMs and Ams. Established new sales crediting policies, portfolio management policies, and requirements for adding commission statements for Account Managers/Major Account Managers in Compass so they were auto generated ‘vs.’ manual.

I worked very closely with my field customers and internal customers to identify their functional needs.

Based on the interviews with these users, I wrote requirements, tested all code changes based on customer requirements, regression testing (to validate nothing was broken with new code changes), and ensured correct and timely production delivery to the business partners.

QA was also performed to ensure work was completed correctly. (The company was Kinko’s prior to FedEx purchase)

Director – Consulting Services (This Company is no longer in business)

Managed small Telecom consulting group. Responsible for various projects related to data conversion, System implementation, customer training tools, on-site consulting and customer assessments. Strong background in Telecom Business Solutions/Metasolv product catalog and most sub modules of TBS. Assisted 2 CLEC’s and 2 ILEC’s in TBS system implementation. § Established Business Processes to assist the ILEC/CLECs with transition from legacy system to TBS. Reviewed existing processes prior to TBS implementation and provided “best practices” for business needs based on their current workflow processes. Travel = 70% - 80% of the time.

Director/Project Manager – Telecom Projects (This Company was sold and is no longer in business)

Managed team of software developers in major data conversion project for GTE (now Verizon). We converted all network provisioning data from their legacy systems to TBS. Trained GTE personnel and supported them through the 2-year conversion process from all East to West coast locations. Assisted GTE with business process changes and wrote all necessary documentation to support those changes. Worked closely with their Staff Support to ensure smooth transition and existing customer service commitments were not affected. Traveled 90% of the time.

GTE Irving, TX (Now Verizon) 6/1981–2/1998

Section Manager – Engineering / Staff Support

Managed 50+ Engineering and Clerical personnel. Responsible for meeting GTE’s engineering and Customer “Measures of Quality” for a 10-state area (Central US). Generated reports providing statistical information on number of Access, Intralata, and Local orders completed daily, weekly, and monthly. Included in these reports were the number of orders completed by customer desired due date, and number of jeopardies and orders missed. I established Bench Marking for BRPC’s (Business Response Provisioning Centers). As Manager I was responsible for expediting the delivery of equipment needed to meet facility requests for our business partners.

Created and refined all new business processes for BRPC regional locations from East to West Coast. Once processes and system upgrades completed pilot, I was integral part of roll out to all BRPC sites. Responsible for follow-up on scheduled intervals to ensure new processes met internal customer needs. Audited BRPC’s to ensure processes were being followed. I documented positive internal and external results for GTE Headquarters. I traveled 10% of the time. As Manager I was responsible for expediting the delivery of equipment needed to meet facility requests for our business partners.

TBS: This application was used by Telecom’s for managing the development of network costs, It supports Telcom’s infrastructure for ease in development, tracking, consumption and performance.

Clarify/Compass & Traveler: This tool was used to track sales teams and their accounts. Traveler allowed them to login from their smart phones to access Compass and make updates while outside the office.

TOAD: This is database tool used to query, write SQL scripts and have them validated before performing the script against the database.

PL/SQL (minor): Can write scripts but it has been a while.

Kronos: This tool was used to manage every employee’s timesheet for work, vacation, sick days, personal days, floating Holidays and US/Canadian Holidays.

SOX: Sarbanes Oxley knowledge and the compliance required to follow the standards.

ISO 9000 Certified: I was certified with ISO 9000 when I was a Manager at GTE before I retired from the company.

SAFE 5.2: I certified with SAFE Agile but never had the opportunity to use it. (License expired).
