Position: Water Engineer

Duration: (April 15/2019 G.C up to now)

Summary of duties:

Prepare and provide trainings(oriented technical) to Zone’s Woreda water engineers:- technical, managerial and supervision work task

Provide technical advice and awareness to rural community about water irrigation projects in order to participate

Undertake feasibility study for water supply and Irrigation projects.

Conduct initial site survey and data collection for the water projects

Provide design, drawing and bill of quantity for in the office projects.

Prepare required construction design including schematics, detail bill of quantity (BOQ), and budget estimates.

Plan, coordinate and supervision of Irrigation projects

Assist in identifying and assessing irrigation schematic systems and infrastructures as well as other construction to be constructed, rehabilitated and maintained

Design and plan of water supply structure for disaster and risk environmental change cases in Hadiya Zone

Produce and prepare detailed work plan and implement the project activities (latrine, and others toilets construction, the water supply rehabilitation and hygiene and sanitation activities) as specified in the work plan.

Supervise and assist with laboratory administrative duties and Sample collections and water quality monitoring.

Initiate regular consultation with woreda water departments on project activities and technical issues.

Summary of duties:

Undertake feasibility studies, plan, design, construct and manage small irrigation projects.

Design hydrological studies for the irrigation and water projects.

Design and construction of storage structures( ponds)

Design and undertake supervision of construction for diversion structures (such as dams) on the rivers for the water or irrigation.

Contribute in the planning,design, implementation of water harvestings at farm level

Undertake engineering and biological measures of soil conservation at farm and water shade level.

Carry out feasibility study and investigating water sources in the field

Water quality and potential test for the projects held.

Supervise manually well drillers(artesian) during shallow, well-drilling activities and installing washer pump(washer pump)

Give training for the local artesian (small enterprises) well drillers on technical and budget expenses

Work with procurement to oversee the selection of drilling and construction contractors.

3.Employer: Getachew Defar General Contractor

Position: Site Engineer -Contract work on rural water supply project in Hadiya zone

Duration: (June 15, 2013 to March14, 2014).

Summary of duties:

My duties and site tasks were supervising the project construction according to drawing.

Supervising the construction of service reservoir(reservoirs) according to BOQ and Drawing

Assist in identifying and assessing in water supply systems (pipe, water points, on spot), sanitation (public shower on water source), latrine, hygiene infrastructures as well as other constructions to be constructed.

Endorse payment for the site employee and supply all construction materials.
