At Delta Energy, I was charged with fulfilling the reactor’s demand for raw materials. Our reactors consume 100 tons per day of raw tire chips. I would forecast our raw material consumption based on historical machine up and down time and watching trends in demand in different seasons. I also was charged with shipping our finished material to our customers on time every time. Our largest customer was Bridgestone Tires, and I oversaw the loading of the shipments as well as scheduling the truck, rail, or barge transportation. On a normal day, I oversaw around 35 outbound shipments to 20 inbound raw material deliveries.
Lastly, I would forecast plant consumables by watching trends in our inventory levels, and of course by season. I would use software by Wesco to purchase parts, consumables, and all other purchases to verify that we were purchasing at the lowest costs.
