Highlights of my career include in particular in my current role as a sonographer, I have been scanning without supervision and independently reporting all my examination with in my scope of practice. I posses great attributes to listening to and effectively communicating with patients as well as keeping calm while attending to them.

I am very strong at inquiring about certain aspects related to my practice as sonographer from colleague and I understand that in order to achieve or accomplish difficult tasks, I must work with other people and that I must bring in their skills and experiences.

I am also good at working under pressure and I actually prefer being in situations where pressure is on because this is where I am at my best. As a professional,I am accountable for own professional activities with n the limitation of my personal expertise and skills. I produce my personal independent reports with differential diagnosis where appropriate with guidance from a colleague /senior sonographer or Radiologist.

Roles and responsibilities.

To carry out obstetric, gynecological (including trans-vaginal scanning), abdominal, and vascular ultrasound examinations to agreed protocols and standards.

To provide written reports after taking a patient history and scan findings into a diagnosis.

To seek a second opinion where necessary.

Accountable for own professional actions and decision-making when acting within clinical protocols.

Communicating scan results to patients verbally as appropriate and necessary at all time, this includes both good and bad news.

Communicating scan results to the referrer with the appropriate degree of urgency – patient management being dependent upon the examination findings (requiring extreme and continued concentration).
