Penumbra 2017 - Current

ROLE: Head of Analytics & Applications

IT partner for transforming Penumbra to a data driven company from excel files to analytics providing actionable insights into Gross Margin, account receivables, HR, Inventory, Clinical trials, supply chain by working with the business leaders across Penumbra. Enable Penumbra’s sales team globally to track performance of product, Consignments and discounts. Help growth by providing accurate & robust metrics showing open and actionable opportunities. In the process set up an integration environment to ingest/transfer data as a service from one source to another.

Key Accomplishments:

• Digital Transformation

o Architected & Solutioned the roadmap and path from excel to actional insights using Integration

(Dell Boomi/Azure Data factory) and cloud platform (Azure) with the existing ERP (QAD /SAP) and (Tableau/Power BI) as a visualization tool.

o Build the Gross Margin Tool in Data warehouse (SQL DW on AZURE) providing revenue and cost calculations across all Penumbra subsidiaries.

o Ensure HIPAA compliance during data extraction and staging. o Integrated Tableau with SFDC platform for better user experience to be able to use the power of the application along with the Analytics.

o Implemented Dell Boomi/ Azure Data factory as the integration platform o Support 400+ Sales rep with near Realtime (less than 2min) information about their customers, orders, new launch and discounts

o Provided Visibility to C-Level on daily basis of the company’s performance across globe, by Product, by targets and showing the acceleration or deacceleration in sales on daily basis. This design was architected and build in Datawarehouse and Tableau and was emailed to execs as pdf files. This Pdf was a mix of Prescriptive & Cognitive analysis. o Implemented the CMS (Content Management System) for Penumbra products o Developed and maintained data dictionaries to include identification of business-critical metrics and data elements driving the single definition for a KPI across the organization.

Responsible for SAP BI ( Business Intelligence) SAP APO (advanced planning optimizer) including SNP (supply network planning), CTM (capable to match) for supply/demand matching, wafer & assembly starts planning, various legacy MES apps like LTS (lot tracking system) for end to end WIP movement/ tracking and Inventory Management, ABI generation etc. Also was responsible for evaluation of SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) in order to establish the fit for Atmel supply chain.

• Business Intelligence

o Built a solid foundation for Atmel’s business Intelligence initiative. Partnered with various business groups to build and establish standard definitions of key metrics like bookings, backlog, billing etc. o Implemented and maintained SAP data warehouse as well as reporting tools like Business Objects to meet needs of various types of data consumers. Re-designed Sales data cubes in the data warehouse with internal resources saving around 500k. Implemented Business Objects reporting tool saving another 200k in implementation costs.

o Implemented Shipping cycle time, procurement cycle time and on time payment metrics to track and measure different processes and improve service levels for internal as well as external customers.

o Partnered with business users to support Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay, Inventory Management and Finance areas

• Lot Tracking System Decommissioning o Managed multimillion-dollar project with a team of around 30 people to migrate WIP and inventory from Atmel’s legacy lot tracking system (LTS) to SAP ERP to enable future company growth through the reduction of supply chain complexity and error prone processes. Worked with all business groups and external partners to manage the implementation of the new processes and tools that included following improvements

§ Inventory management via more robust processes, detailed inventory representation in ERP, product costing and part standardization throughout the supply chain.

§ Order scheduling via integration of SNP supply dates and enabled more standard sales auto picking processes with batch management.
