- Safeguarding all food preparation employees
- Preparing necessary data for applicable parts of the budget
- Monitoring actual financial results
- Cooking or directly supervising the cooking of items that require skillful preparation
- Assisting in maintaining a high level of service principles in accordance with established standards
- Developing policies and procedures to enhance and measure quality
- Providing training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff
- Ensuring that representatives from the kitchen attend service lineups and meetings
