Objective
To obtain an immersive and challenging summer internship for 2024 with a for-profit corporation. I would like to merge my business academic knowledge and non-profit experience with real-world business exposure and understanding in areas such as finance, marketing or operations. This internship will provide a valuable platform for me to enhance my professional skills, expand my network, and solidify my passion for pursuing a career in business administration.
Summary
I am organized, diligent, reliable and a creative problem-solver with a strong work ethic and a desire to lead. My experience includes assisting the president of an international non-profit run his organization in a third-world country. I excel in planning, efficiency, multi-tasking, communication, and working well under pressure. I welcome opportunities to be challenged. I love working within a team but am comfortable working alone when necessary.
Experience
Broken Bones BBQ Colorado Springs, CO
Wedding Catering Lead and Staff February 2022 - Present
I lead a team of employees toward the common goal of providing a satisfying experience to the wedding couple and their friends and family during this special event. I assist the owners with recruitment and staff training as well as event execution. Proper attention to detail and making people feel special help the guests experience a memorable event and supports the company’s desire to grow their business.
International Organization Bangkok, Thailand
Volunteer January – June 2023
I received nine weeks of training from a variety of speakers from around the world before spending another nine weeks in two major cities and a rural section of Thailand. The volunteer work in Thailand included teaching English, assisting on construction projects, working a farm, and playing volleyball against talented teams of locals. While the language barrier was frustrating at times, the work that we did to improve the lives of both youth and elderly was extremely rewarding.
International Non-Profit Granada, Nicaragua
Summer Intern Summer 2022
I spent five weeks as an intern with a non-profit in Nicaragua. I led the intern team and was trained by the organization’s President on the details of the organization’s finances, staff management, communications, and other administrative tasks. I also organized and led multiple groups as we implemented programs to support the underprivileged youth and adults throughout the region.
Large Local Non-Profit Colorado Springs, CO
Teacher and Administrator June 2021 – Sept 2022
I led a team of adult and student volunteers as we taught and counseled multiple large groups of elementary students on a weekly basis. I organized the materials and prepared the team. It was rewarding to challenge the volunteers and see them rise to the occasion. There was a considerable amount of event planning as well.
