SUMMARY
Becoming a young mother (1992 & 1993), during the beginning of 12th grade, it was the county’s Superintendent of Schools who made the decision for me that I would take my high- school equivalent exam, the GED. Earning my GED early caused me to have to get a job to care for my children. I worked in several different places, sewing factories, warehouses, distribution centers, video rental stores, restaurants, and call centers, but I always thought of Murray Ohio as my first, real job. It was a huge manufacturing factory that built riding and push mowers and bicycles. It was fast paced, hard labor that I enjoyed. I hated to leave there, but I had to take care of a very sick child, full-time, until he was better. Once he recovered, I started working for Dyna-Pak, my first 3
rd
shift job, 12 hour swing shifts. Very fast paced, I had to learn quickly how to operate the four different production lines, as well as provide quality control reports and logging package weights. Enjoyed working there, until I became a mother, once again, and decided to be a homemaker for awhile. Years later, I decided that I would go to college for my Communications degree. I also started working at my brother’s business, Once Treasured, at the same time. Determined to succeed, I developed a flea market store from an inventory warehouse, during the day, and studied Business Communications at night.
