Southern California Region Acute Care Division consisting of nearly 7000 employees within 5 acute care hospitals and a large Physician Practice Organization with multiple-specialty Ambulatory Care facilities.

REGIONAL HR DIRECTOR

• Responsible for bringing HR and Pay practices into full compliance with all current CA State and Federal Wage & Hour and Employment regulations.

• Work professionally in partnership with local leaders to ensure the delivery of workforce strategies and drive the effective implementation of key HR programs, policies, and practices in multiple locations in Southern California Region.

• Cost reduction efforts that resulted in a reduction in:

Workers Compensation Insurance premiums by 61% ($700,000) annual savings by diligent management of safety program as work comp claims management

Revamped Safety and Workers Compensation program resulting in a drastic reduction in claims (loss ratio dropped from 120% to 47%) enabling qualification for acceptance into a Captive Insurance Program with eligibility for dividend reimbursement of premium dollars, thereby further reducing overall Workers Compensation Insurance costs.

•Managed Employee Skills and Safety Training resulting in employee Turnover reduction from 120% to 40%

•Through proactive and effective employee relations actions, successfully reduced EEOC/DFEH/DOL claims from 5 active claims when I started to only 4 claims over the next 6 1/2 years. Each of the 4 claims were successfully defended with zero to minimal settlement expense saving thousands of dollars.

Multiple Facility- Level 1 Trauma Center and Medical Provider Network Organization with over 6000 employees serving the Central Valley.

HR DIRECTOR (INTERIM) / MANAGER EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

Managed HR department with 27 + staff members, accountable for budget development, corporate wide employee relations standards and strategic planning and directed all recruitment activities for a 6000+ employee multi- facility hospital organization.

• Involved with re-design of corporate compensation plan to address competitive market and consistency in pay structures across the organization.

• Led departmental re-design focused on better serving organizational needs.

• Successfully brought department in under budget even with mid-fiscal year 5% across the board budget cut.
