Advanced Thermal Batteries is a Department of Defense contracting company for military weaponry applications, primarily for missiles. I am the Operations Manager for Production and Logistics. Production includes cover assembly, powder processing, pellet manufacturing, and battery assembly. Logistics includes shipping, receiving, packaging, kit pulls, warehousing, and inventory management, which includes parts, tools, and explosives. I manage daily operations in accordance with our schedule and forecast, per any designated program. I align the equipment and workstations to meet any deadlines that are provided. All approvals for engineering change orders pertaining to operating procedures, tool drawings, part drawings, and any revisions require my signature. I utilize our operating system, which is QAD, with a purchase order, work order, and transaction system to ensure that all builds will be supported with in-stock inventory. I am a key contributor and decision maker to the Material Review Board and the safety team. I am responsible for all aspects of employee relations including accountability, disciplinary action, recognition, safety related topics, labor hours and time submittal, training records, rate increases, corrective action development, and maintenance of all of those items. I maintain a high level of applicable communication with my teams, and they recognize my involvement. I store and maintain documentation for all employee certifications and create action prior to expiration of certifications. I have developed Class B weld schedules in accordance with AWS D17.1 and D17.2. I have developed a functioning Lock Out, Tag Out procedure and practice. I have developed multiple process flow improvements to relate better with lean manufacturing practices, and I have instilled many practices, means, and processes to improve 5s in each area, while eliminating potential for FOD (foreign object debris). I have established better traceability and visibility of daily production output, and I have increased efficiency in each area by doing so. I have also established better systems for time and attendance tracking, production error tracking, preventative maintenance, and cycled maintenance items for employees.
