In this role I was responsible for having regular, structured meetings with mental health staff to discuss treatment & professional issues, provide organizational updates and provide support. Provided guidance to practitioners to assess client’s mental health needs, develop suitable therapeutic interventions, and make referrals. Trained, evaluated, provided disciplinary action if needed and provided supportive motivation to staff. Developed program curriculum, schedule, internal and external referral process, attended meetings with community partners to establish clear communication and fast track for clients to enter treatment.

Jail Transitions Case Manager/ Co-Occurring Disorders Program Coordinator/Chemical Dependency Professional

I moved through several positions in this company, beginning as a site coordinator for housing first project partnered with the local housing agencies and our community mental health center. In this role I was responsible for providing safe housing for individual with both mental health and substance abuse, with chronic homelessness.

As a case manager I provided supportive services for CMI clients providing case management services, group therapy and collaboration between the medical dept and crisis intervention services, provided supportive services for individuals being released from psychiatric hospitalization.

In the role of Co-Occurring Disorders Program Coordinator, I was responsible for managing county contracts, state and federal grants and was part of the teams to develop the structure and content for the implementation per grant requirements. I also worked with in the county judicial system as an advocate in the jail working with all branches of the court system - judges, prosecutors, CO, jail superintendent and the sheriff along with city government. Also worked alongside the county health officer to implement and develop community programs for awareness and education on mental health, substance use, and medication assisted treatment. I collaborated with a healthcare organization to develop MAT policies and procedures for their behavioral health team and physicians.
