DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

While employed with the US Census Bureau, under supervision, my duties as Crew Leader was to supervise between 17-20 Enumerators, by conducting group training using training guides and supplements prior to them working in the field. Duties also include to assigned and supervised specific tasks and assignments, and review progress reports. Other duties included analyzing and submitting employee daily payroll sheets; review completed performance report. Managed and organized data, and generate, prepare supervisory reviews and report with specific data to administrative side of census operations.

I have held multiple responsibilities other than being Crew Leader. My other designated assignment was as Recruiter Assistant. The responsibility of a Recruiter Assistant (RA) was to assist the Managing Recruiter in the local office recruitment of new hires, by conducting and overseeing testing of new applicants for employment with the Census Bureau. Recruit individually and teams to fill up the test session. Prior to conducting test session, RA duty is to locate and secure site locations for the test, negotiate with the manager or owner of selected site to schedule testing at the locations and set up the rooms to meet testing standards and criteria.

Other duties performed as an RA is the ability to read maps, have knowledge of city zones as designated by the Census Bureau. Conducted on the spot interviews and answered questions in regards to the recruitment process and discussing employment opportunities. Managed and prepared reports, organized data to map out routes, and conducted surveillance on areas for data to analyze for purpose of recruitment.

The second responsibility is maintaining a good driving record and obtaining a Class B license, in order to drive a 15 or more passenger shuttle bus. Each working day consist of checking out assign vehicle and conduct proper vehicle inspection. Then each driver is assign a route where students who are enrolled in at the campus are picked up and dropped off in accordance with their set schedule. During transportation of the visually impaired students, I have to conduct conversational welfare checks by maintaining communication with the students. Interactions include answering questions that they may have with policies about the campus to describing the current scenario outside of the bus.

The third responsibility, I am responsible for assisting the teachers and volunteers at the Braille Institute, s with classroom set up, interact in class discussions, and assist with mobility, i.e., helping first-time mobility students on how to use the cane, or just walking beside the students and describe the environment that they are in to help them define their skills in mobility so that they can cope with their impairment.
