Vikesh Heeralaal, born 17 Feb 1977, resident of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal, eldest of three, took lead from day one, as eldest children are traditionally in the drivers’ seat, organising the general household chores, who does what when, and, being the only thorn amount the roses, nurtured his two sisters with loving care, mentoring and guiding his younger siblings.
Vikesh completed his schooling at Raisethorpe Secondary and Northdale Technical College, with a Technical matric, Engineering, further studies, including Gift of the Givers’ Self-Growth and Counselling course, Caregiver Course at St Anne’s Netcare Hospital, Diploma in Business Computers and a Bookkeeping certificate.
Vikesh’s first day on the job started in a family business, with a light bulb moment in the electrical field. This was followed by a short stint at Logan Pillay Architect, dealing with clients and basic administration work and, a seven-year journey of discovery at Builders Express, with experience in communication skills, sales, consulting, marketing, promotions and events coordinator all the while, dealing, one on one with clients as well as learning, understanding and researching new products.
When Vikesh was offered an opportunity to run his own private transport business, Vikesh took the gap. Airport Meet & Greet Services (King Shaka International, Oribi Airport), City Transfers, local and regional private tours plus Learner School Transport Shuttles in and around Pietermaritzburg, became the order of the day. This entails the implementation of a host of skills required to run this show – logistics, operations, finances, marketing, promotions, sales, customer service, punctual and reliable delivery – in fact, all those skills acquired by Vikesh during his employment in the years preceding.
In 2016, Vikesh accepted a business partnership offer in his cousin’s electrical business, working as a supervisor/ project manager, conceptualising marketing campaigns, driving promotions, managing staff, liaising with contracted suppliers, for the ultimate goal, namely to service existing and new customers to ensure maximum mileage.
In 2019, Vikesh opened Heeralaal Contractors (Household and Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Sales) before joining Jawitz Property and Just Property as an intern/ property sales trainee.
So, Vikesh, a man of many talents, a leader, a team-player, communicator, sales consultant/ marketing events coordinator, project manager, technical minded, business minded, who can get his message across, get the show on the road, who is caring, kind and a people person whom is open minded and willing to learn, grow and UNDERSTAND….
