BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF NEW ROCHELLE 2022

Resource Development Consultant

Reorganized fundraising program of the 93 year-old club. Created plan to raise funds to complete construction of new clubhouse. Managed the volunteer committee to support capital campaign. Oversaw the expansion of annual golf outing to twice the net profit of previous year through extensive solicitation of lapsed supporters and new prospects. Established regular communication and solicitation of Alumni by email and direct mail. Increased individual participation by 100% and contributions by 33%.

The School of Medicine needs to fund research opportunities for medical students to help their preparation for residency program applications. Solicited an alumnus prospect who contributed

$50,000 to create a matching fund, which was used as the subject of a new direct mail appeal to the School’s alumni.

Created a social media program, first by auditing the school’s email database, and then by instituting a regular email campaign to the constituency, Established Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles for the School. Oversee monthly newsletter publication. Manage a third party mailing service.

The School of Medicine was scheduled to have its first MD commencement in May 2020. Managed the ad-hoc preparation committee from the summer of 2019 through early winter 2020, Secured an off campus venue, created an event agenda. Managed the planning committee in the switch to an on-line ceremony during the recent pandemic. Coordinated live and recorded speaker presentation, managed student, family, faculty and staff online invitation and registration process.

Inherited a poorly managed alumni contact database. Instituted a program of systematic research to confirm existing information to identify and update data as needed.

Physician Assistant (PA) program, one of the oldest in the country, alumni were untracked by the College and uncultivated by the School of Medicine. Began an effort to build a PA alumni database, cultivate graduates and developed events that raised support for the program. Responsible for expanding alumni support and for building prospective donor base for programs in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Real Estate, Accounting and Entrepreneurial Studies. Responsible for portfolio of 200 prospects and $1,000,000 in annual fundraising; staff of 2.

Additional sponsorship needed for community college outreach and recruitment program - only

$5,000 had been raised in first year. Identified prospect bank, M&T Bank, interested in establishing a relationship. Cultivated the bank’s Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising departments to promote the event: Bank contributed $30,000 in year 1, $40,000 in year 2.

Instructors wanted students to have more experience with Bloomberg Terminals, but funding was not available. Recruited an Associate Professor who previously worked on Wall Street to identify and solicit prospects for a new technology fund. Created campaign solicitation materials: Raised

$100,000 and established two Bloomberg labs. Two new major donors contributed $25,000 each.

Business School had a poor record of participation in the annual Giving Day. Developed strategy to inform alumni base and other constituencies about the event. Promoted a new fund to support students in need: Result was 459 responses, vs. 10 the previous year, raising $30,000 in new giving.

Many alumni in the financial industry but not engaged with the school. Besides financial support, Rutgers needs help placing students in internships and employment. Additionally, alumni were looking to make connections to help their work and careers. Developed a program of corporate briefings in convenient locations: Recruited alumni at JP Morgan Chase and UBS to hold on-site meetings and receptions. 60 alumni at the vice president or managing director-level attended.

When Broadridge Financial Services moved to Newark, Business School wanted to establish relationship to encourage student internships and employment. Introduced executive in charge of the move to Business School and University leadership. Identified Rutgers alumni in company. Met with chief campus recruiter: 100 Broadridge alumni attended introductory event. Broadridge sponsored undergraduate symposium. Recruiters are on campus this Fall. ROBERT M. DEMICCO, JR. Uncovered a significant number of disengaged alumni. Sought new methods of outreach. Created a 5- part seminar/webinar program. Contacted targeted alumni by email, set up online reservation system, and managed responses: Received 200 responses for seminar/webinar. Hosted in-person seminar and conducted simultaneous webinar.

Lobby renovation to create memorial to commemorate a donor's $1,000,000 gift was stalled - need for a new design and construction complications. Assumed management of renovation - worked with building, architectural, and design staff to streamline design and remove complicating elements. Developed event plan for opening ceremony and invited guests: Renovation completed on time. Executed and hosted event with targeted 100 guests to the satisfaction of the donor family.

Board of Advisors needed to be restructured, annual giving standards established, and general rules of attendance and involvement set. Worked with Chair of Development Committee to organize Committee meetings and review best practices from other Big 10 Schools: Set new giving standards and expectations for attendance and participation in school’s events. Named the program for the school’s original name to cultivate a connection for older alumni: Received 20 potential bequests.

Established guidelines for gift acknowledgement, recognition and reporting, Brought in new database, initiated LinkedIn outreach to alumni. Leveraged newsletter to promote school initiatives.
