Served as consultant for Notable Finance, an online lender of no-fee, 0% APR home improvement loans.

Created de novo proprietary underwriting model (for various loan products) to be used to assess applicants not processable by company’s API. Created features allowing for restrictions on loan balance, home location and other COVID-based parameters.

Functioned as customer service representative, liaising both with applicants and brokers from Compass (real estate brokerage firm and Notable’s partner in loan products) to explain product terms and parameters and to address questions in more complicated situations.

Served as consultant for Climb Credit, an online student lender focused on skills-based programs.

Managed design of an outcome-dependent loan product (for which repayment obligations would be based on successful procurement of meaningful employment following completion of program). Determined appropriate employment and income thresholds for triggering repayment obligation. Nubank: Revolving debt facility.

Provided $120mm revolving debt facility to Nubank, a Brazilian fintech credit card lender. Led valuation analyses of debt facility and underlying loan pools collateralized thereby. Negotiated structure and key legal agreements of original debt facility and subsequent upsizes, allowing the company to increase its customer base from ~800k to >3mm.

Comenity Bank: Prime credit card portfolio acquisition.

Acquired $450mm portfolio of prime credit cards from Comenity Bank (now Bread Financial), completing transaction in three weeks. Developed detailed DCF valuation model to determine pricing levels for portfolio. Negotiated agreements related to upfront purchase, ongoing customer management, etc. Post-close, actively worked with servicer of the portfolio and third-party marketing firms to develop market surveys and other strategies to further grow the portfolio via the implementation of de novo brand names and card logos, rewards programs, balance transfers and other stimulative initiatives.

El Cafetal: Commercial real estate development.

Acquired $35mm office park in Heredia, San Jose, Costa Rica. Led the post-close development and lease-up of two additional towers on the complex. Negotiated sale of the property to a Costa Rican REIT three years ahead of original underwriting, resulting in realized returns of 31% (cf. 16% at underwriting). Serve on Board of Directors for non-profit organization that installs permanent music programs in public primary, middle and high schools in New York (currently serving ~18k student across 53 partner schools).
