My career objective is to provide quality health care to the people in my community by practicing cultural safety, and maintaining professional, legal, as well as, ethical responsibilities. I'm also a Professional Caregiver with six years experience in assisting close relatives and one year elderly at eNtembeni Old Peoples Home with daily living activities like dressing, grooming, bathing,grocery shopping, transportation, and meal preparation. I practiced compassionate and empathetic care to my close relatives and that motivated me to persue my career in Caregiving and obtaining certificates as well as experience in recognized institutions. Given an opportunity I'm willing to relocate.

Personal Experience in Caring for My Close Relatives
I started taking care of my late Grandfather as he suffered stroke from 2016 after my high school to 2019. Since my childhood I have always been close to my grandmother who is diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Throughout my teens and adulthood I learned what diabetes was and how to deal with that situation and how to care for an individual who has that illness. There is a lot to take in and handle when someone goes through diabetic seizures, all the emotions and how to remain calm yourself and get them feeling well again and reassure them. Have to check on them constantly and check their sugar levels everyday and give insulin and all medication. My personal experience in caring for my close relatives motivated me to persue my career in Caregiving and obtaining qualifications and experience in recognized institutions.

Role and Responsibilities
Provides personal care to patients such as assisting patients with toileting, grooming and bathing patients with low mobility
Preparing each patient room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs
Helping patients eat and take medications maintenance of dietary restrictions, serving and collecting meal trays and feeding designated patients
Making sure they have regular meals and proper medication dosages
Monitoring vitals and patient behavior and reporting them to the nursing and medical staff
Assisting patients with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed
Turning or adjusting patients in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfort
