• Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Investigates and resolves payroll discrepancies; follows up on issues for root causes and corrective actions with an eye for cost containment.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates; acquires all necessary signatures to process payroll.

• Completes or assists Human Resources and Accounting to complete all payroll-related audits by providing records and documentation, including but not limited to the 401k audit, annual preparation of Form 5500, and the annual general audit.
• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Provides payroll information to employees, accountants, auditors, and others by answering questions and requests while maintaining employee confidentiality as appropriate.
• Ensures payroll processing deadlines are met, the payroll records are accurate, internal payroll policies/ procedures are followed, and that the department is in compliance with SOX requirements
• Manages the outsourced garnishment process
• Ensures adherence to internal controls; recommending improvements to controls as needed, based on best practices; fosters strong control environment to ensure integrity of payroll
• In partnership with IT, liaises between the Company and payroll software providers, and may assist with troubleshooting payroll/timekeeping system issues
