Description: During my research project, I had the privilege of working on a significant study titled

"Assessing the Knowledge of Nurses and Midwives in the Care of Premature Babies at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tamale Teaching Hospital." This research aimed to evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to premature infants in the NICU, with a focus on enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals.

Key Accomplishments:

• Conducted a comprehensive literature review to gain a deep understanding of neonatal care and identify gaps in existing research, providing a solid foundation for the study.

• Designed and administered surveys and questionnaires to nurses and midwives working in the NICU, collecting valuable data on their knowledge and competence in caring for premature infants.

• Skillfully analyzed the collected data, identifying strengths and weaknesses in the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers and generating actionable insights.

• Collaborated closely with my spervisor an esteemed expert in research studies, to develop recommendations and interventions aimed at enhancing the training and education of nurses and midwives.

• Provide comprehensive midwifery care to expectant mothers, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.

• Conduct routine and emergency deliveries, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.

• Administer medications and medical interventions as required during labor and childbirth.

• Monitor and assess the progress of labor, fetal development, and maternal vital signs.
