Looking to obtain a permanent full-time position working in the Vertical Construction Industry. Introduction:
I am hard working, self driven and very dedicated to my work. I’m extremely experienced in all phases of construction estimating, project management, procurement, logistics, supervision of field crews, and quality control to insure materials and work are delivered and completed per contract drawings & specifications in all phases of construction from civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical. I am skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, Blue Beam, Pro-core, and other computer programs. I learned in college an estimating career using the Means Book as a guide line of estimating. Immediately after college I designed my own estimating format using Excel. I’ve also used the DEED format for some architects and engineers. I’m flexible in any format of estimating desired. Experience:
I have 35 years of experience in the Alaska Vertical Construction Industry, providing cost request for proposals, estimating all phases of construction, project management, procurement, logistics, supervision, quality control, material buy outs, etc., on projects from 1988 to current. I have several years of hands on field experience building multiple projects in almost every phase of construction including civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical. I know many of the local codes for such. What I do not know or have not done, I am willing and would like to learn.
Throughout the years, I’ve worked extremely hard to earn the respect of, and build a good working relationship with, many owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. I have always looked out for the best interest of my employers / clients. Over the years, I have spent much time working in many Alaskan villages, on several construction projects, and I’ve always found it easy to live and work with the local people wherever the project may be located. Employed from 1988 - 1996 and 2018 -2023 with general contractors. I worked as project manager, procurement for all materials, superintendent, and quality control inspector on several projects over the years. My job duties included estimating, working closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project personnel, making schedules of values for each project, purchasing, shipping & inspecting building materials and workmanship for compliance, preparing and submitting pay estimates, supervising construction crews and schedules, reviewing and approving all invoices & time cards prior to payment. In addition, I prepared all submittals, O & M manuals, and also did complete material buyouts including coordinating shipping of such to each project. Employment Summary:
