Distribution / Warehouse Manager

I managed our 44k-sq.ft warehouse – we shipped about 250M of medical equipment annually. Managed 12 employees who efficiently and effectively received, rack-to-stored, picked, packaged and shipped to customers.

Successfully applied LEAN continuous-improvement methods to evaluate layout of racking to find better fit for business needs, and enhanced our packaging processes. The result was about a 6% increase in efficiency – based on traffic flow, accessibility of product, and upgrading of SOPs.

Successfully led 6X problem solving sessions to better understand usage of warehouse – down to picker/packer/shipper functions and needs. Effectively renovated work areas for most logical workflow and usage of manpower.

Successfully upgraded data input from manual to scanning where ever possible. This resulted in a process that was much quicker – on top of that, inputs were errorless. This improvement saved an average of over 6 man-hours daily!

Was responsible to purchase and maintain dock-truck, panel-van, forklifts (swing-lift, order-pickers, propane & electric sit-downs), and train/certify our forklift drivers.

Oversaw the process of backlog mtgs/info to efficiently & effectively complete daily sales & service orders to meet customer demands, as well as our company goals. I was also responsible for inventory accuracy in the warehouse.

Oversaw the shipments of hazmat parcels – we had about 12 different products and shipped an average of 75 parcels of hazmat daily, as well as full-truck and container shipments of hazmat. Established procedures and oversaw the training and certification/recertification of our hazy shippers.

Spent 25% of the day helping our Customer Service with shipping-type requests; figuring out quotes, re-directs, claims, lost or mis-shipped items. Oversaw the ordering of shipping and office supplies. Authored work instructions, engineering change requests and change orders.

Co-chaired our company’s Safety Coordinator position for 12 years – directed the Safety Meetings, keeping notes of the complaint/action sheet. On a monthly basis we evaluated our safety training for employees.

Earlier in my career with Mar Cor, my position was Operations Mgr in Skippack, PA. I managed two small mfg./assembly departments, Inventory, Shipping/Receiving (8 people), and oversaw the building/grounds.
