I work as a direct supervisor of a team of 8 to 10 people at a time. I am in charge of training new employees and maintaining consistency of the final products. I oversee the storage and inventory of the restaurant’s food supply throughout the week.
This job requires the ability to lift heavy objects frequently. I have to be skilled at multitasking while also focusing on an end goal. This also requires me to be able to delegate tasks in an efficient manner in order to keep the “machine” running smoothly. Selling cars required high self control and patience. Customer service and satisfaction played the most important role in achieving goals. With fully commission pay, the work environment harbored a competitive edge for the employees that kept morale high. Inventory was the second most important, as it was constantly updating and random. This job required sharp memory skills and a personable nature, even over the phone or email. Most initial contact with customers was virtual; the employees were required to access leads and communicate with inquiries through the CRM portal. Salespersons have access to sensitive customer documents and are required to follow all laws surrounding information privacy and handling. This also requires hefty knowledge (or teachability) of credit score systems and the ability to explain it to someone else in many different ways.

While in partnership with this company, I acted as marketing and advertising at the price of commissions for my sales. The marketing approach was personalized and required rigorous planning and structure to succeed. As brand ambassador, I was not supervised by anyone and was solely responsible for the work and income that was or was not achieved. During this time of isolation, I learned to use my available resources as a way to meet regular dues and quotas that I set on myself. I learned valuable marketing, business budgeting, and customer service techniques that have helped me in projects since then.
