My goal is to obtain a position in which I am able to use knowledge from my 28 years as a Registered Nurse to help patients in dealings with insurance companies and to continue to learn and grow for personal satisfaction.

Experience

Avita Health System; December 2010-present

In my nearly 13 years at Avita Health System, I have worked in several departments as a Registered Nurse. I worked several years on the Medsurg unit as well as ICU. I did 1 year as Avita’s Interventional Radiology Nurse. With the onset of Covid, many procedures were cancelled and due to the inability to work as many hours as I wanted, I took a position in the ED as a Staff Nurse. After a year, I obtained a position in the Case Management department as a Utilization Review RN. Although I enjoyed that position, I returned to ICU in November of 2022.

North Central State College

Graduated in 1995 with an Associates Degree in Nursing Chamberlain College of Nursing

Graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Skills

During the year I was in Utilization Review, I was responsible for reviewing patient charts, e- faxing patient information from the charts to insurance companies so coverage/payment for services could be determined, receiving insurance denials, and appealing such denials. In dealing with denials, I had to contact physicians to set up peer-to-peer reviews to possibly overturn the denial.
