WORK EXPERIENCE: August 2013 – Current: Transit Field Supervisor – Street Operations Special Events Coordinator

• Point of Contact for overseeing and implementing effective Metrobus detours for a wide range of special events to include marathons, parades, sporting events, major filming projects, construction & utility projects and first amendment events throughout the DMV. Supports high profile events working directly with WMATA leadership, external agencies and other outside entities to devise, execute and communicate Joint-Operations Management Plans, Memorandums, Executive Reports for projects that will impact both Metrobus and Metrorail.

• Communicate and Coordinate daily via in-person meetings, email, telephone and Microsoft Teams with Executive Staff, Street Operations, Media Relations, Planning, Training, Safety, MTPD, various Police departments (DC/MD/VA), Homeland Security (HSEMA) and other local counties such as Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s County to ensure that Metrobus service will continue their course of travel without having a severe impact to service and customers using various resources such as mapping products (Google Maps, BusEta, GIS, Remix software) internal applications, route descriptions and personal knowledge of the DMV.

• Analyzes and offers recommendations to internal and external partners providing alternatives based on safety, policies and procedures ensuring that decisions are aligned with the vision of the Authority while also being mindful of sensitive information and finding ways to improve service reliability.

• Offers administrative assistance to Executive staff with scheduling, spreadsheets, new pilot programs, training, and other streamline activities that affect street operations.

*TFS – When Required

• First responder Investigates and non-revenue vehicle accidents, determines if FTA/ testing is required, transports to WMATA’s testing facility, completing reports and making sure all required data is submitted into the Safety Observation System.

• Supervise Operators, monitor and evaluate in-service performance, provides additional instruction and positive feedback, recommends additional training when needed, and documents information used for progressive discipline

• Ensure that Operators are prepared with credentials, manifests, and are always in proper uniform.

• Responsible for making sure operators adhere to schedules, keeping logs of headways and adjusting accordingly.

• Works closely with nine Bus Divisions (Superintendents, Managers and Clerks) to assist operators to alleviate issues and concerns that daily.

• Respond to complaints from staff, patrons, and other external departments to minimize issues from escalating to an Executive complaint. Quickly analyzes emergency situations using decision making skills while ensuring to follow-up via telephone, in person and/or email.
