-Determine what claims are acceptable and authorizes/denies entitlement to the compensation on an ongoing basis where required.
-Gathers, assembles, reviews, develops, and assesses information and opinions through written correspondence, in person interview meetings and telephone to establish initial and ongoing entitlement to compensation.
-Communicates with injured workers, employers, representatives, healthcare practitioners, and other parties (all stakeholders).
2000-2007
Adjudicator II, Workers Compensation Board
-Responsible for Adjudicating and managing the most complex claims in the Occupational Disease Unit (i.e. Psychological (stress/PTSD), fatality, dermatitis, heart attack, hearing loss claims etc).

Case Manager, Workers Compensation Board
-Identifies injured workers who have physical and/or psychological barriers to reemployment, provides appropriate support, guidance and facilitates referrals for professional services as required.
-Facilitates multi-disciplinary meetings between WCB internal/external resources to design and implement case management plans for complex cases.
-Promotes and supports workplace -based disability management programs.
-Collects, reviews and assesses claim information on a regular basis to establish a worker’s initial and continuing entitlement to benefits and services.
-Authorizes and communicates all entitlement decisions to the appropriate stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
-Assesses the suitability of graduated or modified return to work programs; identifies return to work opportunities; negotiates the parameters of return to work programs with stakeholders; attends worksites to assess appropriate of proposed work alternatives either independently or in conjunction with other staff (i.e Rehabilitation Specialists, Vocational Rehabilitation Consultants) and monitors return to work programs once established.
