Senior System Architect

As a Systems Architect, WoltersKluwer has many products that users subscribe, usually by a yearly contract. The healthcare data is then aggregated and then sent out via SFTP or WoltersKluwer(WK) portal. There are 3 different ways to access the data, either through the flat-file installer, the API installer or Web Services. I program primarily in VB.Net, .net Core(.net) and IntelliJ (java). I develop Web Api (rest), VB, MVC and IntelliJ applications that use our data. Assisted with UHG/BCBS installations for their C-DUR application. Our healthcare customers are many and varied, from Walmart, Walgreens, Davita, Epic etc down to small, one person PBM’s. The application created patient profiles and drug lists and screened. Fully utilized our own API and debugged our Web Services endpoints.

Working at Calgon Carbon in Pittsburgh for a various applications and server migrations.

They have 300 servers that need to get updated to Windows 2012 R2 and making sure the databases as well as IIS works as planned.

That includes migration to SqlServer 2000/2003/2005 to 2012 as well as converting websites in IIS from 6.0/7.0 to 8.0.

I have 5 custom websites that I managed:

FPA - supports the global budgeting system. Extensive rewrite to upload excel files into SqlServer 2012 in VisualStudio 2017 in ASP.net.

SCAS - Calgon manages spent carbon and reprossess it. SCAS handles it all - shipping/receiving, labs etc code.

Corrective Action - Processes HR request for the North American plants.

Columbus Attendance - Tracks employee incentives, reprimands and workflow.

Sieves - Technical data about different ratios and configurations for what's running at the plants

Senior Developer

Consultant for Steak N Shake: Focused primarily on 2 web development pages within corporate firewall. The first MVC project was concerning coupons that are redeemed at checkout. Some of the coupons were preprinted and I had to check that global list to see if they were valid and/or redeemed. The latest pages developed are employee timekeeping system. It allowed a user, with securtity settings, to edit their time, breaks and the reason for that change. It used json post/get scheme instead of the usual CRUD update in Sql Server. There are more than 700 stores so the app get hit quite a lot.

Feb 2000 – March 2017 The Heritage Group Indianapolis, IN

Lead Application Development Architect Information Technology Services Lead developer over 3 developers and maintained software for a collection of companies. The software contained 5 main modules that provided pricing, purchasing, order entry and management to a wide variety of businesses which included construction, refining and aggregate plants. Originally the code was in Gupta SqlWindows (Centura) and used Gupta's SqlBase database. SqlWindows is a Windows API wrapper and handled all window functions, table windows and access to the database. All apps and modules converted over to .net/c#/Sql Server March 2009. The distributed software operated 45 plants primarily in Indiana, Ohio and Illinois and interfaced with Great Plains A/R G/L. Great Plains 2010 installation has 43 companies, operating in the US, China and Europe. I provided all levels of service – Development, DBA and Tier 3 support. Developed SSRS reports comparing budgets vs. actuals. Originated new modules to facilitate testing and Q/A to meet stringent guidelines for state highway construction. PeopleSoft development included SQR maintenance. A/P invoice transfer via eConnect(WCF) into Dynamics GP. Transitioning development to ASP.net for web deployment.

Feb 1997 - Feb 2000 NHP/AIMCO Indianapolis, IN

Developed property management custom software. The software was written in SqlWindows and interfaces with the accounting system (Computron) on Unix. Dealt heavily with Oracle stored procedures and Unix shell scripts. Responsible for G/L file from Ceridian Payroll systems as well as site cash files ($10M/day) for accounting system integration. Post merger activities with PeopleSoft included SQR generation on Fixed Assets reporting and assisting treasury conversion plans. Familiar with NACHA/BAI file formats and PROCOMM scripts to transfer transactions to the banks. Dealt mainly with the Cash/Reconciliation, Payroll and corporate reporting issues.
