Doral Academy Preparatory Charter School, Doral Florida Pre-AP, Honor and Regular Levels Comprehensive Science - 6th Grade, 8/2015 to Present Instructed lectures, class activities, and experiments on the following Earth Science topics: scientific method, natural disasters, space, climate change, Earth’s systems, human body systems, growth, and development. For the last 7 years, approximately 80% of my students have shown mastery learning on various assessments (e.g., growth was shown from a Pre-Baseline assessment taken at the start of the school year to the Midterm Baseline assessment that was taken at the mid-point of the school year. Then my students showed the most growth on their Final Baseline assessment at the end of the school year). In addition, most of my students have scored above average on the Florida State Assessments each year for both reading and math.

High School Biology - 9th Grade, 8/2015 to 6/2016

Instructed lecture, class activities, and experiments on the following topics: biological functions from cell functions to the overview of anatomy and physiology (e.g., unicellular living organisms to multicellular organisms). Approximately 78% of my students scored above average on the EOC (End of Course) Florida Biology State Exam. Gulliver Academy Private School - Miami, FL

Physical Science - 8th Grade, 8/2013 to 6/2015

Instructed chemistry and physical science principles within an interactive lab-based classroom, where students hypothesized, tested, observed, collected data, and drew conclusions as they conducted weekly experiments. Topics covered include states of matter, mass versus weight, density, and solubility. Additional concepts explored include characteristic properties of unknown substances, melting/freezing, boiling points (fractional distillation), forces, motions, and energy. Major projects implemented in the physical science unit included an egg drop, a compound machine (Rube Goldberg) and energy conservation.

IB - MVP Biomedical and Life Science – 7th Grade, 8/2013 to 6/2015 Taught the basic structures and functions of microorganisms, plant, and animal cells. Facilitated students to examine the role that DNA plays in the overall functions of organisms, electrophoresis (Forensic science) and genetic disorders. Also, students were taught how to compare and integrate the systems of the body, while examining their own growth and development. Furthermore, students were exposed to using doctor equipment and software used to obtain vital signs of a patient.

David Posnack Jewish Day School - Davie, FL - Science Curriculum Coordinator and Program Developer - Earth Science 6th Grade, and Physical Science - 8th Grade, 8/2012 - 6/2013 Wrote and developed the Pre-AP Science Curricula for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
