Resume:

JOSH A. RATTNER

I am a third generation Electrical Contractor/Electrical Engineer. My diverse experience has brought me from driving vans and delivering material to Directing a division for the second Largest Electrical Contractor in New York City. Due to my upbringing in the trades, I find that being involved in a project from estimating through completion is my best pathway to a successful job. I also tend to “own the job”; take full accountability for my projects and manage them in that manner. My duties have included not just estimating and project management, but overseeing the purchasing and financial aspects of my whole division.

I have over 20 years of experience in estimating and managing electrical projects varying from Fire Alarm Upgrades to Skyscrapers and Medium Voltage Power Plants. Additionally, I hold degrees in Building Construction Management and Electrical Engineering.

Listed below are a few jobs that I have overseen either as Project Executive or Project Manager:

North Yonkers Pump Station Rehabilitation (Westchester County DPW) – Complete rehabilitation of existing 25,000 sq ft pump station inclusive of all lighting, motor control centers, distribution equipment, and service transformer. North Yonkers Pump Station is one of the main facilities servicing all of Westchester County and therefore prolonged outages to the pumps were not permitted. This required a new service tie-in during 3 consecutive work shifts and to utilize temporary switchgear and generators. $3,500,000

Oakhill Capital LLC. – Complete 30,000 sqft office fit out with trading floor in Stamford, CT. This project included a short timeframe for fit out and high end lighting. Queens Museum of Art (NYC-DDC) – Conversion of a 94,000 sq ft ice rink into an Art Museum. The project consists of architectural lighting systems, security system, a telecommunications system, site lighting, new switchgear, new distribution panelboards, and a new back-up generator. This was a Prime electrical contractor project. $6,500,000

Bowery Bay Emergency Cable Replacement (NYC DEP) –This was a mission critical and time sensitive project. Due to failure of various 5kV distribution lines, the DEP declared a state of emergency, requesting replacement of approximately 60,000 feet of 5kV cable that powers the heart of the plant’s operations. Keeping the plant in operation during these emergency installations, while dealing with a congested site and a demanding owner, are only some of the challenges we faced daily. $4,000,000

Hunts Point Waste Water Digester & Polymer Refurbishment (NYC DEP) – Electrical work upgrades include selective demolition to existing infrastructures; power and distribution systems upgrades, new lighting and branch wiring installations, along with extensive control wiring sensor input/outputs upgrades to plant Distributed Control Systems . Completing the work on time and in accordance with design requirements is something I take very seriously. $6,000,000
